I use the surge staff almost exclusively +100 hours player on Psyker and I have no issues.

Edit: The blur effect is unnecessary, however I still don’t suffer from any of the maladies all of you seem to be getting.

I hope no one in your family ever suffers from a medical condition. You would not be the person for them to turn to for support or help. You would most likely make fun of them and tell them their condition is fake because you don’t suffer from it.

They said they’re fixing it, geez guys. I got a headache from it and I never get headaches from video games, but it’s an honest mistake. Use a different staff for a few days, its not the end of the world.

I don’t have sensitivity to light sources at all - and even I felt sick to my stomach after a few minutes with that thing. Finished the level as melee/brainburst Psyker.

A few days? That’s fraking ridiculous. This VFX poses a health risk - a very real one! - even for healthy ppl. with no adverse reactions to bright lights. That stuff had to be ripped out yesterday!

Don’t use the staff. You’ll make it a few days using a different ranged weapon. If you can’t manage, i’d say you’re the one who’s “fraking ridiculous”.

The problem is that it’s also causing reactions for people who aren’t the psyker using the staff, and there’s at least one post I’ve seen where a psyker player has basically gone “F*ck you, I’m going to keep using this staff anyway.”

If you’re in a premade group and can do a private map that’s fine, but anyone solo queued at the moment who suffers from eyestrain or migraines from the staff vfx has to roll the dice on whether a psyker in their group is someone considerate or an a-hole, and decide to lobby dodge or vote kick if they don’t want the issue to be triggered.

I’ve been playing plenty without being held hostage by rogue surge staff psyker trolls. And if i did run into one of these mythical entities i’d probably just leave and find another match, or like you said, vote kick them.

I suffer from the same issues as everyone else, the psyker staff totally breaks my head, but making this huge stink about it and demanding fixes “RIGHT NOW” seems like an overreaction.

its 2022 where something like this is the end of the world. someone needs to get canceled asap, check the lead vfx in credits, get him fired. also sue fatshark. smh, absolute brainwashed ppl that blow everything out of proportion. sht like this happens when you lose touch with reality. like look at this guys lingo. nobody thinks, talks or acts this way. do this irl and ppl with just treat you like some nutcase and avoid you.

Whilst there may be issues for some, please do not speak for everyone or you’ll be pulling statements out your backside like the quote above. Speak for yourself only…

I have zero issues with the surge staff so what you’re saying is blatantly false. “Anyone” is not correct and the overall tone of your post I found rather alarmist and way over the top.
