I’ll start by saying, I’ve run into this boss twice in one run and it was my first encounter with it so perhaps there is a strategy I don’t know yet.
That being said, Fatshark WTH is this? It has non stop very fast attacks that seem to target a single player. Literally the only option I had was to hold block and constantly dodge which still inevitably ended in my death since I have limited dodges and stamina.
Is this the strategy one person tanks it and the rest of the party does the damage while you sacrifice a team member? Cause I mean that worked, but it doesn’t make for great gameplay or fun.
Unless there is some other strategy I think this boss needs to be toned down. I was playing on malice as a level 23 Zealot, and this boss was insane. In addition to it’s endless fast attack it can also levitate and choke you.
Aside from needing some tuning imo I will say this boss looks incredible and even though it seems overpowered it was quite the spectacle to see it attack like this lol.
You’re not meant to fight it. You’re meant to avoid it. The fact it attacks one person relentlessly, and kills them with no hope of rescue, is exactly how the Witch behaves.
You can kill them but it doesn’t matter. We ran into three in one mission. The first time it killed two people and left. The 2nd time it killed two people and the remaining 2 killed it, getting us a penance. The last time we just avoided it.
You’re just meant to avoid it. It’s a stage hazard. Or it’s there to ruin your runs when it’s in the middle of a horde you grenade.
That said if you don’t shoot it, you can be within Zealot dash range and it won’t aggro. Doesn’t care about noise or activity near it, it just cares if you attack or get too close.
If this is the case, there’s another problem. Both times it spawned on my run it was in an opening right where the corridor connected, with no other way around to continue the mission, so we were forced to fight it both times.
So it seems a bit odd if we’re supposed to avoid it, but you literally cannot do so at times. So you either have to have a really high dps team or you just lose?
We killed it on Uprising with two characters at like 10 and two brand new characters at less than 5.
We lost two people in the process, but with relatively better gear I don’t see it being that hard to kill it without casualties…although I imagine by Heresy the thing hits like a freight train and has 4.2 billion HP.
IMO a “Boss” is an enemy that if you play well you can beat with no casualties. It’s a “fair fight.”
The Daemonhost is clearly not meant to be fair. You can’t counter attack it, and it never lets up. That’s a trap or a stage hazard in my book, not a boss.
The problem I see with that is it presents as a boss and like I said was spawned in a position to block our progress.
So while what you’re saying could very well be true, I still think they should tweak it then. Whether that be spawning it so it is avoidable or changing it’s attack pattern so you at least have a second to breathe.
I suggest waiting a day or two before posting any feedback. I’m not saying it’s fine or learn2play or it’s broken, just there’s a bit of ‘churn’ right now while players encounter it for the first time and work out how to fight it. For example, it seems to be resistant to bullets and lasrifles, but psyker stuff hurts it.
It might need a nerf, or it might need the AI director to not plonk it in bottlenecks repeatedly, or it might just need a specific approach. Hell, it might need all 3, or even a buff if it’s got a glaring weakpoint that becomes common knowledge.
For sure, that’s why I started my post saying maybe there is a strategy I don’t know about yet.
But comparing it to other boss fights I’ve run into in the past 26 hours of playing, or even from VT2, it’s pretty insane power wise with no obvious strategy other than hope you brought dps since it targets a single player relentlessly until they are dead.
is the mob hard yes
is the mob to hard no (IMO anyway)
i have come across it like 3 in one match and we killd it all 3 times ok one player whent down but when you go down he stops to drink your soul and if the players are fast enough you can kill it before it kills that player
also you can sneek past it and not have to kill it if it is in the open
Mind if I ask what difficulty and party composition?
Like I’ve said, we did kill it once, but it also spawned in chokepoints both times. And if the strat is just huge dps before it kills you…I would argue that’s not great gameplay wise.
I’ve always liked the tide games cause theyre mostly skill based. Except here skill doesn’t matter too much. If I’m the target it doesn’t matter how well I can dodge or block, I will most likely be killed by this because the attacks don’t stop. I don’t have infinite stamina or dodge. I then must rely on the rest of my team to hopefully do enough damage to kill it. And once it downs one person, it can target another…so now you have only 2 people that can do damage.
The fact that it can spawn multiple times and do this is a bit much, imo.
Did you read my post? I literally said is there some other strat then tank it while others do the damage and you basically sacrifice a teamate? And so far, no that is the strat everyone has said. That’s not fun for the person who basically just has to die.
Also I fought it twice, not once lol.
It’s not like I said, please nerf this boss, it’s too hard. I suggested it possibly needs to be toned down if this strat is the only option.
