So fought about 4 so far, only won 1 time. Its very hard, since it wont stop attacking you and after you are down, it will start a sort of cast where it lift you up and kill you after 15s or so. Didn’t find any way to interrupt that yet.
I think its a boss that you can find only in special maps that have the lights out. The encounter is fun, but very hard at the moment. With bots its almost impossible to beat it. With a full team its easier but the odds are that at least 1 member of the team will die. And add to that a horde or a bunch of specials/elites, and its almost certain a wipe.
The good news is if you manage to kill it you get an achievement.
So, how was it your experience? Did you guys find any weakness? Any thoughts?
It definitely appears on non-dark maps - having just run into one. However, I did (accidentally!) discover how to make them easy mode - when it aggros on the Ogryn with the shield, slam down the special shield and it will just batter on the shield while the rest of the team kills it.
With its lockon behaviour, makes sense, but not sure if working as intended!
very difficult to avoid since the spawn points are in the middle of the room most of the time. Since most maps dont have much open spaces, It will be a constant encounter. But I agree that it has to be tweaked a bit so players can have a better shot to survive, specially in the middle of hordes.
Crazy OP.
A friend and I just finished our approach to Malice, the Power matrix mission with Light off.
At first I thought it was the same mode as before, in the first days of beta? But it’s not the same mode. Was there an eye icon? And the map was covered in fog.
We 3 times meet this boss. The first time everyone in the group had a big wtf. the second time he had focus on me and as a zealot on the block i get 560dmg in 10s.
I srrvive with 2 hp somehow. It is so fast that it is almost impossible to avoid it. (after the last dodging nerf, I have a problem even with dodging a mutant or a dog. It’s better to push the dog away on the block.)
I like him, his whispers, the frozen screen have climat but is strong. too strong compared with others
This is why the second Space Marine follows up with 4 bolter shells in the Astartes fan movie.
Daemonic possession goes poorly for everyone involved.
That said I do agree that it seems silly to have heretical f*ery that you’re not supposed to purge. It’d be better if it was a boss encounter that was much harder but that you could also prepare for and be player-initiated unlike when other Monstrosities show up, similar to Egg Hunt missions in Deep Rock.
You won’t be able to avoid them. There are 4 demonhosts on the Power Matrix mission. And you can only avoid one. The rest of the 3 are just lying on the only path
I like it. I don’t think your supposed to avoid it, I think your supposed to kill it. But if you can’t or your not confident, you might be able to avoid it if your lucky
Any loyal servant in service to the God Emperor of mankind should gladly lay their life down to take down such an abomination !
Ogryns with shield can tank them with ease as the Shield-Special blocks frontal 180° and doesn’t consume stamina.
So simply let the Ogryn pull it (which will force the DH to attack the Ogryn), let the Ogryn move into a corner and then activate the Shield-Special while facing away from the corner. Set up like that, the Group can simply murder the DH by hitting it in the back.
