Good morning.
I’m writing out my concern for the current event. From the time I played, it only shows up on T3+ missions. Why would the devs cut out “new blood”/ most of the playerbase?
Is this a bug or intentional?

where are those numbers that show the majority below t3?
i mean starting a fresh character you’d have gear ready by match 5-6 at the latest.
plus given how many ill prepared/equiped stroll through auric maelstrom i have a hard time believing lots of the 7k players to be below t3.
and if one truly is stuck on low levels i wager such a boss spawn to be a wipe for the team.
given what my buddy reported when he was just wanting 1 match without deaths, starting low level with bots getting almost to the end by himself only to find those replacing said bots on the final stretch manage to fail by yeeting themselves.
not being available on auric maelstrom though, thats a bummer for sure.
there’s an entirely different group of players in T3 and T1-2, compared to T4-5’s group and the Auric hugbox. if you’re playing T5 or auric you run into the same guys pretty fast but if you decide to slum it in T1-2 to get better screenshots of background stuff you can end up never seeing the same guy twice. i’m pretty much in agreement with him that by numbers most of the playerbase doesn’t crack T3.
If you play any amount of Darktide beyond the first 3 hours, you’re in Malice. I have no idea why you’d play Sedition or Uprising. They’re gloriofied tutorial difficulty, so you learn the key combinations.
Expecting great rewards for their completion is a misplaced expectation on your end.
Go play and enjoy the real game, friend.
pov from auric maelstrom here exclusively, well the odd HISTG to not record the same map a third time if we were going speedy, but i rarely see familiar faces.
european server that is, german time late afternoon/evening mostly.
there are a few recurring faces, say every 50-80 matches, usually the good guys on their evening stroll.
as for the odd ones out, gladly i dont see them so often again.
most would leave a bad enough impression to remember them by and i got my replays, so i hardly “forget” such encounters
so last census was around 600 matches uploaded, make that 15 or less guys as returning guest stars, had almost as many matches before starting to collect my gameplay (way back when HISTG was the highest tier).
anyways, its not a bad thing to have numbers across all difficulties, game’s gotta earn its living somehow.
i just shudder at the thought of “the majority” not growing past t2
It’s not even guaranteed
I went away from Maelstrom just to get one regular Auric lights out, no Rinda
Why
I’m not doing 30+ lights out in regular Auric for 2500 diamantine Fatshark, and if your answer is that the event is directed at new and casual players, then i’m afraid you don’t realise they also won’t do 30+ lights out in two weeks
its a low intensity lights out with 1 boss maximum that is only ever Rinda (who doesn’t have a void shield outside their orthus fight). why would it be on the board that is hi intensity minimum?
My guess: lights out can be very disorienting, even if you intimately know the maps, and I’d wager not offering the modifier to the lowest 2 levels is a decision meant to shield low-level players from the pain of fumbling around in the dark.
How long have you been playing sedition friend? Are you looking for help getting into damnation?
Rinda would annihilate a T1-2 group.
“ I’ll take reaching for $500 Alex”
I’ve done 2 of these as I came back from holiday late to the event and thought I’d see what it was.
It’s just lights out, with a small segue where one of the Twins appears, takes 75% damage very quickly, then scarpers again. Nothing like the twins fight finale difficulty, or even a triggered Witch.
Just seems like a way to try to make players play what is, generally, an unpopular mod of the game. I don’t think I’ll bother with it any further. I don’t feel as though Lights Out has real tension to it like Hunger in the Dark did in VT2 ( those that didn’t change their graphics settings to get night vision
).
Do this event with range weapons disabled, no elites, and absolutely it might.
