Crashing on Start

The game keeps crashing during start up. I get to the launch menu, but then it crashes before the game loads. It pulls up a building cache bar that loads super fast, then immediate crash. It has been doing it since yesterday morning. I downloaded the new patch, then proceeded to play for about an hour. After which the game crashed, then gave me the error when I tried to restart it. It has been doing so repeatedly since.

I have tried at least 10 times to restart the game. Always this error.

PC Game Pass

Since 9am on 11/14 until now. Central time.

100% fail rate.

I have updated firmware, system, and drivers. I ran a repair on the game, and even reinstalled it entirely. Deleted the cache on it as well.

Sorry to hear this. As a potential workaround, please try:

Delete Darktide AppData & Verify

NOTE: This will reset any custom keybindings.

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to: AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\MicrosoftStore
  4. Delete the entire ‘Darktide’ directory
  5. Launch Darktide as normal

You will then need to use the ‘Verify and Repair’ option, which is accessible via the Xbox App and will ensure the installation is complete.

  1. Open the Xbox App
  2. In ‘My Library’, select ‘Darktide’
  3. Select ‘More Options (…)’
  4. Select ‘Manage’
  5. Select ‘Files’
  6. Select ‘Verify and Repair’
