Crashing in all missions

Issue Type (Required):

Crash - During Play

Issue Description (Required):

When I first started playing in the beta could play fine then after one update the game would constantly crash in all missions during play (doesn’t crash on title screen or if just hanging around in the ship/lobby). This is repeatable and happens in every mission although it varies on how long it takes (from near instantly to 5 minutes normally).

I have tried the recommended fixes found on the forums (verify files, completely delete and reinstall game, changing threads, reinstall drivers, trying the experimental branch etc.) but no success. A buddy with near identical hardware specs has been playing since beta with no issues.

Any help with this is much appreciated as cannot play the game at all at the moment.

This particular crash looks like an unusual one, so I suspect the crashes you experience regularly are something else. Could you share another crash report with us please?

Hi thanks for the response,

Just let me know if you need any more crash logs to help identify the issue and I will add them here.

Amazingly, it looks like you are the only person experiencing this crash!

If you haven’t already, could you try wiping your Darktide AppData?:

NOTE : This will reset any custom keybindings, so you may wish to make a back-up in case it doesn’t work.

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to: AppData\Roaming\Fatshark
  4. Delete the entire ‘Darktide’ directory

You will then need to use the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ option, which is accessible via the Steam client and will ensure the installation is complete.

  1. Right-click Darktide in your Steam library sidebar
  2. Select ‘Properties’
  3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
  4. Select the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ button
  5. When complete, close and reopen Steam

NOTE : If Steam Cloud saving is enabled for Darktide, this may automatically restore the AppData and consequently cause the error to resurface. You can disable Steam Cloud Saving for Darktide via the Steam client by:

  1. Navigate to your Steam library
  2. Right-click Darktide
  3. Select ‘Properties’
  4. On the ‘General’ tab, scroll down to ‘Steam Cloud’
  5. Disable ‘Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’

Just my luck haha.

I’ve tried that and that looks to have sorted it now, played 3 matches with no crashes. I had tried similar fixes before but not removed the cloud saves so it must have kept bringing back the old issue.

Thanks so much for your help with this! It’s been super appreciated.
