Crash on Startup April 2021

I am not getting a crash log anymore after the reinstall and the launcher document is blank.

Issue: Game failed to launch from steam. Game Launcher would start, after hitting play I would get the game logo then a black screen and crash. Launching from the directory had the same effect. Trying to launch modded realms and both offline had same effect.

Solutions tried (not in this order):
-Reinstall
-Manual deletion of all related files and reinstall
-Verify integrity cache, no errors found
-launch with launcher bypass
-launch with launcher bypass dx12
-run steam as admin
-run EAC launcher as admin
-reinstall Easy Access Cheat
-update .NET framework
-update C++ Redistributables
-update Windows
-update Graphics Card drivers
-update direct X
-launch as fullscreeen, fake fullscreen, windowed

After all this was tried now I can’t even get the launcher to start either, it just stays on “Running” in steam and the task manager shows the EaC launcher but with 0% cpu usage.

Hi @Zankaru,

The error HRESULT: 2147942487 = E_INVALIDARG indicates that it’s a GPU-related issue.

Could you run through the following please;

  • Ensure your monitors are plugged in to the dedicated (as opposed to the integrated) GPU ports on the back of your PC
  • Perform a clean re-installation of your GPU drivers using the appropriate instructions below:
  • For NVIDIA GPUs: Ensure both Steam and Vermintide 2 are set to use your dedicated GPU within the NVIDIA Control Panel by:
  1. Right-click the desktop and select the ‘NVIDIA Control Panel’
  2. Navigate to ‘Manage 3D Settings’ > ‘Program Settings’
  3. Locate Steam within the list of programs
  4. Within the ‘Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:’ dropdown, choose the NVIDIA GPU
  5. Then locate Vermintide 2 within the list of programs, and repeat the above step
  • For Windows 10 users:
  1. Navigate to ‘Settings’ > ‘System’ > ‘Display’
  2. Select ‘Graphics Settings’
  3. Select the ‘Browse’ button and locate the Vermintide 2 executable (Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\binaries)
  4. Select the ‘Options’ button
  5. Choose ‘High performance’ and save your changes

Thank you for the help. I did everything but setting the preferred graphics processor in NVIDIA as it was not an option. Seems to be an ongoing issue with NVIDIA, sometimes I can get that option and sometimes not, and then the cards just decide to uninstall itself whenever they want.

But I am able to launch and play VT2 reliably. It is greatly appreciated.
