Game Crashes Upon Launching from the Launcher

Redownloaded the game, launcher opened just fine, go to press the play button and a small black window opens before the game crashes. Verify the files and try again to the same result as before

Hi @SnowDog,

It appears that AMD Radeon Graphics is being set as your primary GPU, instead of your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070.

Please try the following:

  • Ensure your monitors are plugged in to the dedicated (as opposed to the integrated) GPU ports on the back of your PC

  • Perform a clean re-installation of your GPU drivers using the appropriate instructions below:

  • For NVIDIA GPUs: Ensure both Steam and Vermintide 2 are set to use your dedicated GPU within the NVIDIA Control Panel by:

    1. Right-click the desktop and select the ‘NVIDIA Control Panel’
    2. Navigate to ‘Manage 3D Settings’ > ‘Program Settings’
    3. Locate Steam within the list of programs
    4. Within the ‘Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:’ dropdown, choose the NVIDIA GPU
    5. Then locate Vermintide 2 within the list of programs, and repeat the above step

  • For Windows 10 users:

    1. Navigate to ‘Settings’ > ‘System’ > ‘Display’
    2. Select ‘Graphics Settings’
    3. Select the ‘Browse’ button and locate the appropriate executable:
      Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\binaries
    4. Select the ‘Options’ button
    5. Choose ‘High performance’ and save your changes
