Hi @Braggart

Based on the information in the logs, it appears your default GPU is set as Microsoft Basic Render Driver - this is resulting in your crashes in Vermintide 2, as your default GPU cannot handle the demand.

Do you have another GPU that is not being detected?

Please see below for solutions for this problem:

  1. Right-click the desktop and select the ‘NVIDIA Control Panel’
  2. Navigate to ‘Manage 3D Settings’ > ‘Program Settings’
  3. Locate Steam within the list of programs
  4. Within the ‘Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:’ dropdown, choose the NVIDIA GPU
  5. Then locate Vermintide 2 within the list of programs, and repeat the above step
  • For AMD GPUs: Ensure both Steam and Vermintide 2 are set to use your dedicated GPU within the Radeon Settings by:
  1. Right-click the desktop and select ‘Radeon Settings’
  2. Navigate to ‘Preferences’ > ‘Additional Settings’ > ‘Power’ > ‘Switchable Graphics’ > ‘Application Settings’
  3. Locate Steam within the list of programs
  4. In the ‘Graphics Settings’ column, assign the ‘High Performance’ profile
  5. Then locate Vermintide 2 within the list of programs, and repeat the above step
  • For Windows 10 users:
  1. Navigate to ‘Settings’ > ‘System’ > ‘Display’
  2. Select ‘Graphics Settings’
  3. Select the ‘Browse’ button and locate the Vermintide 2 executable (Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\binaries)
  4. Select the ‘Options’ button
  5. Choose ‘High performance’ and save your changes

Please let us know if you have any problems.

do you think this could be a symptom of an nvidia GPU driver installed alongside an AMD GPU driver?
i took out my new amd card, i plugged in my old nvidia card and apparently the old driver was still somehow installed. it was still on version 4.6~ish of the nvidia driver for a GTX 1060 8gb

i think the old driver somehow survived this whole time, i re-installed windows 10 like 3 or 5 times over the course of the 2 last weeks, and here we are, with the nvidia driver still somehow installed
and the nvidia card is working more or less in great condition.

Possibly! Conflicting drivers and outdated/old drivers can occasionally cause some issues.

Have you been able to change your default GPU and resolve the crash?

no, i have not been able to fix the problem unfotunately.
the AMD gpu just isn’t working out with the parts i guess? have had this problem for 2 weeks. im gonna switch to my old gpu at this point and return the new one

Sorry to hear that! :frowning:

Let us know if the issue persists after switching your GPU.
