Crafting WON’T be ready for launch

Personally since I’ve seen this come up a lot in discord and forums, does saying ‘We’d like to implement feature X’ suddenly put the game back in an incomplete state? I get that the full suite of crafting options not being available right away is frustrating but I’m not sure I’d say it suddenly makes the game incomplete or ruins it. There’s more than enough content to hold someone over for the 3 or 4 weeks it’ll take to roll out crafting features and I’d assume they’ll probably roll them out one at a time per week through December.

I still own the game and that gives me the right to complain about things I don’t like.
Not gonna stay silent and take it just because a friend gifted me the game.

A core feature that was in the previous 2 games of the same genre from the same developer not being available at launch would be considered by most as incomplete. Especially when they already have the UI in place but still being inaccessible.

Damn, what a shame…
Anyway, can’t wait for tonight. Really loved the POB, and can’t wait to have more! Take your time refining crafting, FS. Some of us can be patient :relieved:

It’s got tons of delicious unprocessed corpse starch. I hear unprocessed foods are better for you.

A basic feature missing on launch is not a good showing, that’s for sure. Well it’s shipping anyway!

what i genuinely don’t understand is why they didn’t just call it early Access, i know EA is a procedure that evolved to become fishy and unliked in the industry, but at least it sets a standard of what to expect, and maybe people would have been pleasantly surprised on how well the game plays and would have been more accepting of the things that don’t work properly yet.

what we got now is not a fully realized game as it is advertised.

I’m more concerned with the fact that multiple blessings+traits(+%damage modifiers) arent working. Crafting doesnt matter until all of that is fixed because we cant craft “meta” without that piece of work being done. do i wish that werent the case? yea, but hey man, as long as they fix whats broken first and then give us endgame content - i dont care too much. theres plenty of time to no-life grind every char to 30 and #getgood enough to clear damnation with the gang.

Early access isnt all that bad. For example look at satisfactory. It was a great game in all its stages and they keep rolling out great content but for them its not finished.
The biggest mistake is calling an unfinished game a full release. At least by calling it early access people have an idea what they are getting into and darktide will 100% be an early access for at least another month. It can only help fatshark by calling it what it is and not getting review bombed

You can actually, hours played on the beta do not count toward the refund limit. Refund away!

I think we’re a dying breed sir. With the exception of Valheim, my best friend and I don’t even play early access. Soon as we see “Coming to early access in xyz…” we just say yeah call me when it’s done, then you might get my money… if it’s good. At least in the gaming world, I don’t spend money on “promises.”
