Crafting is the main thing that will probably get me to quit again

the most frustrating thing is playing for literally hundreds of hours and having a weapon that’s just locked out. you can’t even try out new builds because you may have rolled some, “god roll”, blessings at the time and then just changed the 2 perks.

sometimes you wanna try out a new blessing but you can’t. it really is just plain stupid how the crafting is currently set up. what it SHOULD have been is ranking up each weapon individually, and then being able to freely change whatever you want once you max it out. like, if i’ve used a weapon for hundreds of hours, why can’t i switch whatever blessings and perks i want, whenever i want? if i wanna run 2 completely different blessings with 2 completely different perks on a weapon that i’ve been using for hundreds of hours, i shouldn’t have to potentially wait weeks, or months, or even years, before i find another 380 roll with good stat dispersion.

I definitely agree. People who don’t mind the current crafting system (on reddit of course) will mock people who want a different crafting system by going “people are dumb for getting worked up over getting perfect rolls” and point out that you technically could probably complete auric maelstrom with a 100 power base weapon. This is of course completely missing the point that doing that would be boring as all hell and this is a game where we’re meant to have fun; and if the small random differences in stats between a 370 and a 380 don’t matter to them, then why even have them be randomized?

The lack of customizability on weapons is definitely really a pain and that is why huge crafting changes are by far the highest thing on my wishlist.

Ah well, nothing about crafting in the first part of the anniversary update it seems. Here’s (coping) hoping for part 2

Every time i engage with the crafting system i just want to stop playing.

I am so tired of farming resources and good base stat weapons just to have them become worse and worse the more i upgrade them, its honestly so aggravating and i just want to log off for the day every time i spend any significant time interacting the system.

It neuters the ability to test out new builds badly.

On top of all this, every time a big balance patch comes out you have to do this whole song and dance all over again.

I just want the ability to test out new stuff, experiment with off meta builds and play around with different weapon builds, without having to invest ungodly amounts of time to do it.

Crafting is just horribly designed from the get-go and should never have been shipped as the RNG disaster it currently is. The bare minimum ‘compromises’ they’ve made have only had the effect of invalidating their initial plans and, paradoxically, making blessing acquisition even worse.

Any competent company would look at the +80% negative opinions of the player base and decide to 180 completely, announcing that such a thing would take time to implement and giving periodic updates as to their progress.

I guess instead they’re going to do what they did with the class overhaul and say absolutely nothing until they’re about to release. Or they’ll just do nothing.

You don’t get it, it’s not 80% negattive opinion as only a very small minority goes to the forum… obviously there is a vastly bigger silent majority that LOVE the crafting system as it is and will stop playing the minute, no the second they change it to be more permissive …

This is satire, yes?

Yes, it’s pretty clearly such.

You never know when it comes to this forum.

It’s based off of something Catfish said in response to some other complaint about the crafting, which was “we can’t be hasty about making changes based off feedback, there could be people who haven’t given feedback who love the system” which of course was a silly statement. It’s not her fault except for not finding a better excuse, because clearly RoundFish are just giving her the blanket statement to say “we ain’t saying shet, tell them whatever” and leaving it up to her
