There are also many more ways to collect loot, you have different types of missions - strikes, raids, 40 000 dailies, etc. There are also more types of items you get, like armor, or vehicle, and all comes in colorful loot-pinata to cause a dopamine spike and entertain you.
There is nothing of that in DT.
My point of view is based on objecitve reality and clear arguments.
Darktide and X-com are games, there should be turn-based combat in DT
Darktide and Warcraft 3 are games, there should be building construction in DT and 2x2x2x2 skirmish.
Darktide and Need for speed are games, there should be cars you can drive.
etc.
At some point you can, thatās why there is no reason to lock items behind such huge RNG, itās not arpg, itās more about skill than items.
Go read all threads about crafting and rng that were existing, then come back lol.
For me too VT opened up with getting reds. I finally felt like I could experiment and switch my builds as I please without being artificially held back by bad oranges. Itās still too grindy for me, but it was better than DT.
You are dead wrong. A lot of people stop playing because of this sh*t. There is no gurantee to get a godroll ever. You canāt work towards it. There are dozens of topics about that.
Delusional to asume that @aroth68 is coming back in a few days.
I personally stopped playing because of the tedious systems months ago, I looked at the new skilltrees and thought of playing for a moment⦠But then I was reminded of the crafting, the progression system and the lack of content.
I think the skilltrees now are the way they were meant to be at release, so they put in an easy to implement skillsystem beforehand. Iām just hoping thatās the same case with the crafting system and they are aiming to rework it (or are already reworking it in the background) in the long run.
The playercount went up, I canāt deny that, but when the hype about the skilltrees is over the playercount will drop by alot again and people will realise that there isnāt much to do or to grind for.
I am not sure if I agree or disagree yet but I will point something out here. Seeing as VT 2 was brought up⦠It had RNG too. You hardly ever got max roll on a particular suffix or affix. That said, you had ab etter chance of achieving it with VT 2 because you could forge brand new equipment at max gear score at any time. Then you could try rolling it
I can for sure say that I put a lot of time in to both VT 2 and Dark Tide (more in VT 2 than Darktide). And in that time, I achieved my desired build in FAR less time with VT 2 than Darktide. When I got the desired build it never stopped me from wanting to try new things. I made so many oddball builds that continued well in to that expansion with the map board thing
Based on my experiences⦠I can say for sure that the crafting system isnāt good. Will it work for most players? Prolly. Is it in a state to where it can promote a long and healthy game? Abosuletly not. I find this crafting system is far more difficult to theory craft than VT 2 due to the RNG, the time it takes, and the fact that the weapon I am looking for isnāt always available
Nah youāre dead wrong. The grind destroys any real chance of developing strategy and building squads with synegy, or even just experimenting with new and interesting builds because weāre always broke from this gambling system.
For example, I only play Veteran because I canāt afford to try for a āgodrollā on any other class.
This is a shame because Zealot looks like a fun class, but I have no desire to do the grind again, itās a painful experience.
In short, the craft system creates a limited and linear experience in Darktide which hurts the game.
You mean to tell me you still played the game and amassed thousands of RNG boxes despite having the gear you were looking for? Why would you keep playing if you didnāt have an RNG carrot on a stick?
Was it perhaps because you thought the game was fun? You are proving the point that RNG doesnāt matter.
Yes, Iām not saying it shouldnāt change. Yes, I still play the game. Iām fine with either RNG or not. It seems to me that a lot of players hate the RNG system, and I agree that FS should listen to its audience.
Since it doesnāt matter to me, I feel like it is more fun to spend my currency/rewards on RNG to enjoy my luck. However, I know that most people hate it and I think FS should listen. This is just my personal opinion explaining why I enjoy it.
If you ask me would I rather have them keep the current RNG system or change it, I would say āchange it.ā Not because I like it, but I rather have more players to play with than enjoying the game by myself because itās losing a lot of players.
Oh, I think I understand where is the problem.
UX in this game is really not good.
Looks like you do not understand meta game loop.
Happened to me as well.
So I play all 4 chars and have almost everything I want for all of them.
Perks on weapons are shared amongs all humans with exception for unique weapons.
For every char you have different set of weekly quests.
In āLimited Time aquisitionsā you can buy weapons with IV tier perks sometimes. Weapons you buy from LTA usually garbage stat wise, but you do this for perks.
Good stats weapons you buy from Weapons shop, if there are some.
Level Up these weapons with resources you got from Damnation.
Apply perks extracted earlier from crappy LTA weapons.
Enjoy your almost godrolls.
Actually I think this is a good system. It is deep and engaging.
Not straight forward, but maybe this is why I like it so much.
I remember complains about RNG on Destiny 2 forums.
Bungie removed RNG.
Community bored out and numbers droped.
Then Forsaken happened. RNG brought back.
āOmg thx I have something to chase nowā comments made me sick at the time, cuz I hated RNG myself.
