Look. If you want people who aren’t whales to buy cosmetic packs, you need 1 of 2 things: They need to individually be reasonably priced - $5 for a skin max. Not the $15-$20 prices I’m seeing here. This is especially ridiculous given that the game is already something you pay $40 for. They can be earned in gameplay via earnable currency. Neither of these are what Fatshark is doing.

In an ideal market where customers are cautious and reward quality, the manufacturer must actually pay attention to the quality of their product. But let’s say there are customers willing to pay very high prices regardless of the actual quality of the product, perhaps because there is no competition, because they are highly loyal, or perhaps because they don’t care about the quality or don’t have the means to appreciate it. In this case, what stops a manufacturer from stopping paying attention to the quality of their products? The answer is: nothing. If this system provides the desired profits, precisely because there are people willing to spend absurd amounts of money on whatever the manufacturer shoves down their throats, the latter can afford to lower the quality and keep the prices high. Then, over time and gradually, it can become increasingly tighter and raise prices more and more. But who loses out in all this? Those customers who are cautious in their purchases and who appreciate and reward quality. They will see the quality of products decline and prices increase, and they will be unable to do anything about it. It’s easy to say: «Just don’t buy those products!». Yeah, but while you and ten others «vote with your wallet», there is one spendthrift who instead buys with his eyes closed and compensates for all your prudent choices with his money. Many of these whales, incidentally, are players who are now accustomed to the entire business and who do not go into too much detail about quality. Product A is announced, they buy Product A with its trinkets and DLCs, play it until B is announced, buy B, abandon A, rinse and repeat. But maybe I’m rambling. If anyone is more knowledgeable than me in economic matters, please correct me. I speak above all from experience, both in my work environment and humbly as a video game player (I lived and suffered through Bethesda’s entire parable from Morrowind onwards).

If I buy a pack of smokes or a bottle of liquor, it will cost me about the same amount of a skin. Both are optional and considered expensive to some. I think it’s all a matter of opinions, so at the end of the day I’m still gonna buy skins I like. I’ll buy two if it means spiting people who constantly whine about optional cosmetics (while the game has plenty of free skins).

Everytime I’ve seen a cosmetic that I would buy (even if not 100% to my taste) I’ve been throwing 2$ into a jar meaning to buy something that would make me “touch plastick” (dogs pee on grass). Here’s what I’ve bought after 6 months (there was X-mas sale so I’ve saved 100$): [AT-ATLEgo]

I think I have some of the highest play time/Aquillas spent and even I am not going to bother restocking my Aquillas ever again. Probably spent close to this game’s LE purchase price twice and 2300 hours. I do not think that they should be pricing up all the cosmetics sets into the 3000-4300 range to exploit a Warhammer fan’s desire to kit bash properly. My uniform hats should not be seperate purchases; this is getting despicable. Its outright hostile to a fan of the minatures.

What are everyone’s thoughts on vet new set? I’m honestly surprised to see vet get another regimental outfit (Valhallan Ice Warriors) rather than another reskin Would I have liked to have seen the leaked scion cosmetics but I guess the snow regiment and everything else this fortnight being winter themed makes a lot more sense considering the month. Course in typical Fatshark fashion the hat you’d want with the set (the ushanka) is sold separately from the set At least it’s not as much as it’s the same hat as the bundle one but in red for 14 dollars last fortnight.

[0gz0i6u5j19c1] @FatsharkStrawHat Hello , why is this set 3x the price?

Obviously we gotta bank roll some content development. Too bad we don’t have play station users to help shoulder the burden of money pushing this time around. I’m sure the stipend Phil Spencer pays to deny other sources of Warhammer fans is worth it.

[image] Macharia: I lived and suffered through Bethesda’s entire parable from Morrowind onwards Most of us Bethesda fans didn’t really expect anything big out of Starfield until last minute with that cool reveal showcase that they did… then it turned out that Bethesda basically showed the entire game off in that one showcase. Bethesda will not survive if The Elder Scrolls 6 isn’t completed on release. We Bethesda fans may be extremely resilient due to our love-hate relationship with Bethesda, but few (if not none) of us will be very impressed if The Elder Scrolls 6 comes out in the currently projected timeframe (2027-2029) unfinished. Making fans wait nearly 2 decades for a sequel just to release it in an unfinished state would almost certainly be a near-fatal decision for Bethesda to make, and they’d better realise that sooner rather than later.
