Cosmetics causing FPS drop spikes

Issue Type (Required):

Latency

Issue Description (Required):

Whenever loading my cosmetics, I get a massive framerate spike. Not sure if this is addressable or not. I’ve used mods before but haven’t loaded any in since patch.

[PC] Do You Use Mods? (Optional):

Yes, and I’ve tried disabling them

Reproduction Rate (Required):

Constant (100%)

Platform (Required):

Steam (PC)

Ohh this is unusual. Does the issue persist after verifying integrity of game files?

  1. Right-click 2 Darktide in your Steam library sidebar
  2. Select ‘Properties’
  3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
  4. Select the ‘Verify the Integrity of Game Files’ button
  5. When complete, close and reopen Steam

Or, failing that, a clean reinstallation of Darktide which involves deleting your AppData (please note any custom settings, keybindings etc. will be lost). Please see:

Sorry for failing to update. I had uninstalled, verified, etc. etc. But there was one thing that did fix it. Restarting PC LMAO. I install and uninstall games a lot (thanks adhd) But yeah, you can get framerate drops that persist throughout the game, more heavily noticed when browsing cosmetics. But hey, at least this might bring attention to a potential future issue?

Ohh interesting! I’m glad to hear that the issue resolved after a PC restart. I’ll definitely pass this info on to the team and it’s something we’ll keep a lookout for!
