Yea, that’s annoying.
(compounded by having been traveling for a week and getting home Monday night and very much looking forward to this update)
While i wasn’t at 100% blessings (guesstimate 85-90%) there were a few surprises when i logged in just now to say the least, couple of 300 point weapons that make no sense.
Some seriously wonky points distribution in this system, even if it’s just a short term annoyance.
Edit: Has anyone tried burning weapons for points yet? I figured holding off until tomorrow would be the safer bet.
Unfortunately it is as I feared from the get go. To take away even some RNG, they would instead saddle us with enormous amounts of grind.
Even so, the truly galling thing is that those who subjected themselves to the previous ungodly RNG hellscape, have had their progress stolen and undone. They not only forced the hellscape upon us for all this time, they then deemed it perfectly acceptable to take away progress we had managed to gain in that hellscape.
It just really shows what kind of company FS is.
I suppose the added injury that people are clearly not being awarded the progress they should (the maxed people), makes things even worse. For those of us who are not maxed, how will we ever know if the miserly progress we were awarded, is even correct? Should there have been more progress?
Which would be understandable if FS was ever proactive about correcting the record instead of correcting it only after they were “caught”.
It’s the same as always and I shouldn’t be surprised. There’s some sort of office-culture psychosis at work at FS where there “seem” to get off on tormenting their player base. I’d like to think it’s unintentional, but much of this goes to the heart of their design decisions, so I have to think they know this stuff will tick people off and so they do their PR/comms gymnastic routines to sugar coat it all.
I had a fair amount of tier 1 and 2 blessings and in many cases no corresponding tier 3 or 4 one. As far as I can tell those contribute very little, if at all, to the mastery conversion.
I asked point blank if they could share the numbers each blessing tier contributed and they said they could not share that. Gee I wonder why? Maybe it would be clear evidence that their conversation process was scummy? I think yes.
Thanks for uploading your evidence. Makes me think people claiming they have “100%” on all weapons are just outright lying or not looking at the right thing.
Possibly, though if someone truly maxed has not been given what they should, it’s not unthinkable that there are others who are bugged the other way.
(It’s also possible they are looking at unmastered weapons and seeing the number ‘100’ and think it means 100%, not 100/500 power level )
For those not maxed previously, and no photo record of our blessings… how will we ever know if we were given the ‘right’ amount of progress? There are clearly bugs in the system, but how will we know, since even with photo evidence we couldn’t have calculated it, since as you say, they keep the XP secret.
I don’t want to see snakes everywhere, but I couldn’t help but notice how the messaging changed today. First it was that they had to press pause and do a maintenance (that lasted for a really long time) in order to make the systems work. This did not seem anticipated, as the patch notes did not mention it at all, and they eventually had to put big messages on the forum and on the launcher because of all the bug reports.
Then later it was strongly suggested that this was always known, was always the plan, and was why they released a day early, so it would be up and running for sure tomorrow. None of that was conveyed in the initial messaging about the systems not working at all.
It was all “Surprise! You get it a day early!”… and not, you know, we’re pushing it today to make sure it works tomorrow.
Let’s say you have a weapon with 8 blessings pre patch. Let’s say you had a tier 3 for four of those and a tier 4 for four of those. Let’s say the weapon got some new blessings for a new total of 10.
How it works is that each of your current blessings can contribute at most “1 point” towards fulling an increment of the new XP mastery track, and there is one increment for each total blessing (so 10 increments with 10 blessings).
A tier 3 or 4 blessing provides about 75% of an increment. Meaning .75 * 8 = 6 full increments. But with 10 increments now you’re at 60% of the mastery despite having so many tier 3 and 4 blessings. 60% of the mastery is about mastery level 12. Well below the max of 20.
This isn’t a bug. It’s nefarious design decisions. People heard of you have most/all of the tier 3 or 4 blessings you’d max the mastery. But there are half a dozen subtle ways that notion was eroded in practice to leave you at 60% or less.
I had most tier 4 blessings, many tier 3s but not all, and certainly not everything on every weapon on every family.
New system hit and I’m maxed out on every weapon family on every avatar. I can click on every weapon family, on every avatar, on every blessings, each 4 times. (Thanks).
Are you SURE you weren’t looking at it during the maintenance period?
What can possible explain how one poster with 100% blessings gets less than half of their mastery maxed, whereas other people with that DIDNT have all the blessings get 100% mastery.
Can you provide a screen shot of a mastery screen? Did you play and missions or sacrifice items yet?
i have way more progress post patch than i had before. i had only ever collected t3 blessings picked up t4 when i saw them had almost no t1 nd t2 most t3 and probably around 60-70% of t4
i now have every single bless for all weapons except the bolt pistol, not to mention how few versions of weapons so im sitting on mountains of xp for new weapons.
