Constant Out Of Memory crashes lately (I have 30+GB RAM free at any time)

Issue Description (Required):

In the last couple weeks I noticed that game started to crash due to OOMs times and times more often than ever before. It usually happens after a couple hours or longer sessions, but on rare occasions I was experiencing 2 crashes happening within 30 minutes window from each other.

My box has total 64GiB RAM installed, out of which 30+GB is almost always free. I also noticed that when I start the client and go on my first mission, there is about 20+GiB of Free RAM shown in Win10’s Resource Monitor - but when the crash happens, if I check this metric before DT’s process is killed, I see almost negligible amount shown there. So somehow it consumes all the RAM over time.

I have several mods installed, but much less than before (because most of complex mods are not yet updated to work with the new version of the game) - and even with my full set of mods it never was creating so many memory-related issues before. Something changed in the last few updates apparently.

I’m attaching the fresh log where such crash happened at the end.

IIRC DT only allocates so much memory to be used by the game, and if it hits that limit it crashes and throws the out of memory error. I remember there being a fix via a line edit somewhere in launcher_settings.ini (or similar file) in %appdata%, but I don’t remember anything beyond that.

I don’t know if this problem is related to that. I’m just spitballing here. Hopefully support will have a better solution.

As I actually see Resource Monitor showing close to 0 free memory before the process is killed, I doubt it’s this. It actually consumes an extra 15-20GiB of RAM and dies.

Add this to your steam launch options, increase it if you still get OOM crash
