since the release of nightmares and visions, games have been failing and booting all players back to lobby with 2014 error codes listing mission aborts. never had the problem before and there was no other code or log that I know of to capture.
I’m assuming this isn’t affecting enough players so they have just been ignoring it for a while since lunch only posting generic fixes for the issue in Jan 2023. Its to the point mods have just being offering refunds because they have no answer for their game being unplayable with error 2001 and 2014.
I think it is happening to a lot of players, because I see it happen in game to at least one person almost every match (if it’s not me). This problem seems to pop back up with every large patch and falls off as the player base dwindles, but this is the worst I have seen it in 1200 hours of playtime.
Will Fatshark also refund my cosmetic purchases? I don’t want a refund, I just want to play my favorite game, but this is getting ridiculous. They could at least acknowledge the issue is on their end so players don’t waste a ton of time troubleshooting something they can’t fix.
AFAICT, it has a higher chance of happening when theres more action in the game. So, Havoc is getting hit extra hard right now. I’ve been asking people in random Havoc games whether they’ve experienced mass DC’s and everyone has said yes. So, at least for my region (US-West) it appears to be prevalent.
Happens all the time to my group. We’ve lost many games because of this and it makes the derank garbage that much more painful.
Well I did some testing and I am able to see major packet loss in Wireshark before and during my disconnects. This seems to occur when there is a spike in data being sent for a large horde spawn etc.
Still haven’t pinned down the root cause but I’m calling my ISP to get an updated modem as it’s older (Arris TG3452A) and it’s possible it’s struggling to keep up with the packet spikes. I thought it’s also possible my NIC is causing issues, as the Intel I225-V has been reported to be buggy, but mine is the latest revision and already has up to date firmware (issues claimed to have been fixed).
Other than these and the list of other things I’ve looked at (check my post), I can only assume the Amazon servers that Darktide uses are simply not able to handle the congestion from the latest updates, or there is an issue somewhere along the path between the servers and my PC. Though I am located in the NW and should already be very close physically to the NA west servers. (I’ve tried using VPN, same results)
It would be interesting to know if there is a hardware connection between users that are having this issue. My best guess at this point is there may have been a change or increase in the amount of packet data being sent after the update that is causing issues with certain hardware configurations. Or maybe it’s something else completely unrelated
I’ve done all the advice they gave in the big post back in 2023, so I was able to check those possible solutions off the list. I have an the most up to date modem and router my ISP provides and also tried a VPN which worked for a while before going back to how it was. (My original connection is New York). Hardware wise would be interesting to know my current setup is still good no issues with my NIC from searching my mobo.

Error 2014 and sometimes 2001 half of the time now, I wish they would fix it because it is incredibly frustrating.
I have seen other people disconnect and sometimes reconnect as well.
They are about to release new content in a few days and there is no way i am buying it in the current state.
I wish they would at least be honest about their servers because it does feel like gaslighting.
It’s not clear to me whether this is their typically lack of comms or whether they actually don’t understand the problems they have. Probably a bit of both. That we can’t tell is itself a problem.
I wish they would take a field trip to Coffee Stain and get a course in how to communicate with their community. A good amount of frustration could be alleviated by them being clear about things.
