Connecting a 2nd Controller on Steam - Analogue sticks do not work

I play VT2 on Steam using a PS4 controller. Connecting it to steam wirelessly or wired has no issues. However, I bought a 2nd PS4 controller so that I can swap between the two controllers if one runs out of charge.

I am in game now checking that it works. I connected my new controller wirelessly 1st and there are no issues. I connected my other (older) controller wirelessly as well, and it does not respond to moving the analogue sticks (character movement and camera movement). Connecting it with wire does not change anything either. Swapping the situation (control old controller 1st then new controller 2nd) produces the same result (old controller works fine, new controller cannot use sticks).

The issue is resolved when the 1st controller is disconnected (either by inactivity or unpairing it), allowing the 2nd to use analogue sticks. If the first controller is only connected by wire (and I do not prompt it to connect wirelessly by pressing PS button), then unplugging it also disconnects it and thus allows the 2nd controller’s analogue sticks to work.

Is there a way to fix this, so that I can use either controller wirelessly whilst both are connected?

Thanks

We don’t support multiple controllers unfortunately. I believe it should automatically be looking for the “working” controller and prioritising that as controller number one, which doesn’t seem to be the case here, consequently resulting in an unusable controller.

Unfortunately, with resourcing being so limited, it’s unlikely this will ever be changed.

No worries. Thanks for looking into it. I understand that this is low priority, and it isn’t a big deal for me as I can just remember to connect them one at a time. Hopefully the team can work on bigger, more exciting stuff.

Thanks!
