Since launch, we’ve seen feedback from many players requesting shared progression across characters to ensure a smoother progression loop. Our designers are taking this feedback seriously and are discussing how to best implement a solution that meets our players’ desires and gameplay goals while also striking a balance with the game’s design intent. This is a sizable endeavor, and its feasibility is still unknown, we hope to be able to share more information on its progress at a later ti
me.
The request is pretty simple: we want shared resources. The same functionality that existed in V1 and V2. Are the devs who worked on those games no longer employed at Fatshark? Where is the confusion?!? Why is this request being repeatedly skirted instead of directly addressed.
Out of curiosity, why is FS so determined to make progression as painful and unfun as humanly possible. The new refine system only letting you change 1 perk seems absurdly arbitrary. More importantly we need blessing changes, since half of them are absolute dogwater, especially with the frequency of things like “rev it up” appearing.
There seems to be a fundamental disconnect between the development team and the playerbase, waiting room simulator is not fun.
back to the armory so i can waste my time looking at all the different type of axes and auto pistol when i just want a damn force sword, surge staff and voidstrike that never show up for days because of RNG and when they do they are complete garbage because of you guessed it! F*#$^@& RNG.
I answer this question literally a few responses above yours.
GREED GREED GREED
And the worst part, I’m sure it’s not to the benefit of the CMs or developers. It’s for the suits at Tencent and the execs/founders at Fatshark who decided to let them acquire the company.
Im going to stop playing (and have) because I have to wait 30 min for maybe a map I want to play to show up, and then never find people wanting to queue heresy or damnation. Outside of that my gameplay is speedrunning malice for crafting mats every time I find a maybe 1% damage upgrade weapon in the store, only for it to roll crappy blessings. My vet is functionally BiS, gated by RNG, and leveling a new character isnt fun AT ALL, Malice becomes trivial at about level 5, so unless friends are on, im stuck farming boring content to level and im gated on what weapon types I can use till I reach some arbitrary milestone.
There’s already almost nobody playing, at least nobody playing heresy or damnation, which is really frustrating to me, there are more people playing Vermintide 2 than this mess.
You guys already got a lot of negative reviews on steam, some of us are playing this game only because we received an Imperial Edition code from a 3xxx/4xxx series card purchase (me included).
I’m a fan of the tide games, but it’s getting REALLY boring and frustrating playing this game right now, I’m not even going to complain about the predatory cash shop, but what about the fact that I can only get a new weapon from a shop that resets in an HOUR, Like, WHAT!? Then, the crafting system is not even implemented, and I can already see that it will be BORING AND FRUSTRATING AS FU**, really guys, WTF??? Is it really THAT HARD to make something FUN and REWARDING??? Like, what about just hearing us for instance?
Sorry for the ranting, it’s just that I see a lot of stupid decisions, and I wonder who in the right mind would think, -Hey, what about all those weapons heh? What if the only way of getting those is by praying to god that it shows up in the store, and if not, well, come back in an hour
Core gameplay loop is inherently less interesting, because we only have 4 classes with essentially rigid 0 variance builds and maybe 10 / 65 weapons are even viable. They all “feel great” in terms of responsiveness and recoil, but yeah… most of them are doo doo garbagio. V2 out the gate had 15 careers and some variance in builds, as well as a number of weapons that felt and performed well. Also, we had crafting and red items out the gate (even if reds droprate on day 1 was .004%)
I’m of somewhat the same opinion, but from a different perspective. I’ve played Vermintide 1&2 for years on end almost exclusively and yet I find Darktide’s gameplay quite fun and refreshing. It has a few issues but nothing that can’t be fixed. To me it feels like the devs did not believe in their own game and in its ability to keep people engaged through the gameplay itself. Like you say, they came up with all of these downright depressing ideas to time-gate the game artificially by removing account-wide resources, locking weapons behind a timer on a store and so on. It’s really, really disappointing, as in my opinion the game can carry itself just fine through its in-mission content. However, I fear that all the scummy stuff they put around that will ultimately drive people away.
Fatshark, I’m rather disappointed that this $40 content doesn’t conform to all my personal preferences and that my priorities aren’t aligned with the developer’s. Hope that you know that you are abusing your community and that any blood is on your hands. Honestly how do you even sleep at night.
So the “big content news update” that has been used as an answer for the past week is basically “we’re listening and working on it” and 1 part of a still unfinished crafting system?
And that entire section about penances has to be a joke. You’re seriously attributing the absolute toxic way penances are designed to a communication issue? “how we phrase requirements”?
Yeah there’s a communication issue alright, a phrasing one even, but it’s definitely not that. You may try admitting or owning up to bad design choices for once. Jesus.
Edit:
And what about the mission table? The RNG shop?
They make it sound like most penances have a much more obvious method of completion that we’re all collectively missing. Besides the Zealot speedrun “do a mission under 10 minutes mostly under one wound” that lets you complete it even if you FAIL the run, I can’t think of a single other example where it’s as Fatshark claimed.
Could you please let us know if there are any plans on changing the weapons shop and the mission selection screen? In any way, shape or form? Playing missions is A LOT of fun, but the systems sorrounding the core gameplay are very disfunctional and frustrating at the moment.
