Never before have I seen a company so quickly and thoroughly annihilate any trace of goodwill from it’s own consumerbase/community. Its going to require herculean effort from FS to rebuild any amount of trust in their ability to treat their playerbase with respect, at least for me.
It breaks my heart. I want to love this game.
To be honest I don’t think it will take that much effort. Fatshark already earnt a reputation for poor releases before this game. The only major difference here is monetisation which they can still backpedal on if they want to. Plenty of people are hanging around these forums because they want to love the game.
All anyone wants is a good game and all Fatshark has to do is make a good game. For a game development company this should have been their objective anyway.
I prefer cyclonic torpedoes cracking the crust, some people prefer the bio-bombs, some go straight to setting the planet on fire. Asteroids are an option too, but you have to remember that asteroids are not free.
I don’t know man, they may be able to recover some trust and good will, but not all of it. The stuff they do creates basically permanent anti-fans who will follow them around, sh*tting on their games, like an anchor around their neck.
