Wasn’t expecting a mission selection change… but then again like any of the crafting changes/additions it doesn’t actually do anything to address the issues players have with the system.

What possible cost would be so onerous as to make hamstringing the game’s longevity with terrible updates be worthwhile? They aren’t being asked to change their bloody engine or immeasurably complex. They’re only being asked to make their ‘player retention’ systems retain players instead of repulsing them.

Game is squarely following the Anthem path. Except Fatshark likely isn’t big enough to just cut away their gangrenous new giant game like EA did. There is a very good chance they are on a collision course with being acquired for dirt and then downsized to hell and back.

T3 blessings are good and common. T4 blessings should be rare. If you need t4 blessings to play this game then no matter what fs does its gonna be a lost cause for you.

Came here for this. Thank you for saying it first.

At this point I doubt they are going to redesign the Mission board. Like everything else, they will just patch the holes with some makeup and that’s it. Take it or leave it. Good luck and good night for us all.

This is kind of shocking. I haven’t been hating on Darktide but this should legit make them feel bad. Numbers don’t lie.

Vermintide’s doing fine, or even better than Darktide at the moment.

I like these patch notes. I wish it could come sooner but these are much needed changes. Dont know why anyone is compliaining when they see all these positive changes

Well to sum up the much appreciated constructive feedback:

  • Player agency = Good

  • RNG = Bad

I think you got the two mixed around…

I wouldn’t mind returning to the game, but I’m surely not doing so until I feel like I have some agency - preferably both in regards to gear progression and mission selection+. In the meantime at least we have BG3 going live this summer. They’ve been at it for some time already now, showing great progress, and they actually released their game as Early Access.

Probably because this game is about 6 feet under the ground at the moment and these changes are equivalent of raising it a few inches.

See stated points of “at best this is a bandaid solution to a much larger problem that the community as a whole has been pretty vocal about”.

While this may be a positive step it also took 3 months and it’s clear that FS is sticking their fingers in their ears as far as the player base response of “we don’t want this” goes.

The increase to plasteel amounts actually will relieve a lot of the problems

Depending on how much more plasteel it would significantly reduce rng time to aquire good gear with the new shop system and emperors gifts.

Again, bandaid solution to much larger problems. It’s still a system based entirely on luck and hoping to get a good roll but I’m kind of blue in the face when it comes to repeating how it’s a bad thing.

Yes you are clearly right. That’s why the game has no players left. It’s not because we want progression that makes sense and isn’t gated behind 7 layers of RNG. No, it’s because we just all totally suck at the game and can’t play without T4 blessings.

Lets just take an extreme example here and say you get 10k plasteel a level. With the proposed new system that would mean you could buy and roll so many pieces of gear so fast the rng becomes almost meaningless. Increasing the plasteel rewards directory reduces the bad rng people are feeling.

Rolling more doesn’t stop how bad the RNG feels since you’re still going to be dumping 99% of those items.

It’s also RNG. You don’t know that rolling more will mitigate anything in terms of RNG.

More items means more chances for better gear. Thats how rng works. The more times you get to roll the more opportunities for better gear.

Unexpected, but welcomed changes
Although, disappointed about the absence of crafting material conversions. Not exactly complicated to implement. 2 months after release, VT2 had that.
