Ah you don’t understand math, do you? If the odds are one in a billion, it doesn’t matter if you get 10 lottery tickets per week, or 100. The odds of actually getting what you want (not just for one item mind you, but five items on 4+ characters) is still essentially zero.

There’s no mitigation, there’s no bad luck protection, there’s no pity. Statistically, with more rolls you should get better gear, but realistically it could be anywhere from immediately to still never. Just hope you’re not on the never end of the bell curve.

I mean thanks for the clarification.

But for real we dont need t4 or even any blessings at all to clear the hardest content. So anyone not playing the game cus they cant get t4 blessings falls into the category you just mentioned.

But it’s nice to have. But since it’s statistically improbable to ever get them on the right weapon, why are they there? People lose interest if there’s a carrot that’s impossible to get.

Sure if the actual odds were 1 in a billion but they are not so people will actually see a big increase in the number of good items they will receive with these changes. The idea some people have is that this changes nothing but this is false. More rolls directly increases everyones chances at better gear. I already have some god rolled gear with this so called 1 in a billion chance you talk about and so do my friends so either we are all lottery winners or your numbers are off

I think you (and FatShark) have quite missed the point of a progression system. Especially one that requires certain blessings to even try certain playstyles. It doesn’t matter, this has all been explained a thousand times to FatShark and others like you, who seem completely unaware of why anyone would ever want to optimize their gear.

Hint: It has nothing to do with being able or unable to clear content at any difficulty.

Also… yet another account that blindly defends FatShark that was invited to the forums by Hedge. How totally random.

What possible reason can you think of for this system of gear progression then.

It’s just a time sink imo.

btw I’m listening to the rick roll reading the comments on reddit and the forum here. This is a train wreck man. I’ve never brought a game where this happened before.

My concern now is if I invest any time into this game is it going to become unsupported in the future because of all this.

Did you know that you can make a good build with a t2 or t3 version of that blessing that you need? Dont need t4 blessings to explore builds. Anyone who has been saving should have a t2 or t3 blessing ready to give to hadron by now.

Counter point I don’t think I should have to play for 1000 hours just to try a particular blessing combo out.

This isn’t an MMO. This is a coop shooter.

For crying out loud there is less RNG in Risk of Rain 2 and that game is a rogue-like

Oh totally, because the odds are so good, right? That’s why I have tons of power cyclers, high end slaughter blessings, bloodthirsters and especially hundreds of infernus blessings.

Like I said, you don’t understand math.

Why aren’t Grims and Scrips on every map at all times? That was fantastic for VT1 and VT2, needing RNG to have them show up is dumb as hell.

Then they should make the game harder.

Lol you keep talking about t4 blessings like tbey are absolutely required. Power cycle is the rare t4 blessing but if you read the dev blogs melk will get increased items so we will probably see more t4 blessings. Be happy you can finally break out of malice!

Then going by your example, why even bother having the RNG.

This absolutely. Would love this to happen.

Thank you for ensuring there was direct communication with us all this week and not silence. I had assumed there would be nothing new this week and that was discouraging.

In spite of any criticism we do share, the presence of these Comm-Links and their consistency is helping me and I hope others as we struggle to enjoy our time with the game.

Once again. This is another pain point they addressed. They added more missions and more higher difficulty missions. If your not a malice warrior then you should see significant increases to potential grim and tome missions that you can collect from. As well as a reworked quest combining the 2.

Dude really thinks “malice warrior” is an insult when half the time the secondary objectives don’t show up on on anything higher than a 3 or a 2 and when it does it’s a map I already played 4 times today.

Great game design. Maybe they should lock the login screen behind rng too.

Looking in from the outside, it seemed that Fatshark is still intent on mixing in the whole Diabloesque ‘Action-Looter RPG’- ‘Separate Characters’ concept. That must be the reason behind why the seem to refuse to even discuss sharing resources.

And, I can somewhat see it. I don’t like it, and I’d prefer they did indeed silo resources for the account. If this is the route they’re going down, then that can be managed. Its not like you share gold with separate characters in most games.

But, in mimicking this path, they forgot the VERY IMPORTANT part of being able to transfer Class-Appropriate items over to other characters. It would be a cheaper way to throw a bone to the community than giving us exactly what we want, but giving players the ability to ‘store’ items for other characters would be a giant step up from where we are now.

I’ve seen so many people say that they found the perfect weapon for their Veteran, but only while they were playing Psyker, or Zealot. Give players an ‘Inquisitorial Transfer’ or some of the sort that allows them to give/trade an item to another character on their account, and I think you’ll receive a positive response, whichever of Fatshark’s staff eventually skims past this.

The fact that they even took out the Blessing upgrade feature (give up a weapon with lower tier blessing to upgrade another) when it was originally planned and probably already functional in some dev build somewhere, feels like a big F-U.
“Oh you’re whining about our RNG-fest of a weapon system ? OK we’ll give you some features to compensate, but take away some others.”
