Can we please take a second, detailed look at Kruber?

Yes, on Shade you definitely need that crit advantage to proc resourceful combatant, to fill up the ult, so you can kill armoured, which negates the need for bringing the glaive in the first place :slight_smile:

You are right there.

I think, for Kerillian’s 1H sword, either the non-charged attacks need to be made faster, or have it deal more damage per non-charged swing. The charged attack is awesome and pretty much the only reason I ever bring that weapon (usually to remember how crap it is on non-charged even with 2 swings and block).

Kruber’s 1H sword needs a slight damage boost and make the charged attack an overhand chop like Kerillian’s 1H sword so it can be used against armour.

Huntsman needs his ult tweaked/balanced, badly, preferably by reducing the CD enough you can pop it w/e you see a CW without feeling like you might be wasting it. It would be more fun/useful if they just balanced it by eliminating the janky camouflage element and reduced the buff duration dramatically but made it spammable. Having to sit on ults is lame-o. Other ults with comparable duration have better value in general. We shouldn’t have to hum and haw about using our ult on a basically purely DPS class, especially when it’s not an instantaneous damage effect. I mean… hell… is this not pretty much exactly why Shade’s ult cd was reduced? Also, the damage buff is extreme overkill for pretty much everything that isn’t a boss or a CW so having it on a CD that’s so long is infuriating.

A WS player should be landing headshots with pretty extreme reliability and, practically speaking, as much efficiency and speed as it would take to land a body shot though. Every target requiring a headshot for ohko has a massive juicy head and predictable or zero movement. Huntsman is decent at special killing but WS, without the help of her ult, can have 3-4 SV dead in the time it takes any other class to kill one and reliably/safely eliminate distant targets in the middle of the melee fray without taking damage thanks to her speed, mobility, and versatility. Plus her enhanced crit chance and crit power combined with her ideal gear stats enable her to ohko maulers with respectable regularity, she can lmb spam into hordes all day due to the synergy between her balanced crit rate and scrounger, with crit power she can lmb ohko gas rats, and her ult is “press f to delete everything” and can/will proc scrounger to totally refill the quiver pretty reliably. Plus she runs circles around hordes while slicey-dicing and has top tier temp health generation affording her the opportunity to be more aggressive in general. Hunstman is fine, but his kit just doesn’t have nearly the synergy, DPS, or versatilty of other characters, even with the handgun exploit.

Five things are so terrible:

  • altered colour and “crounching animation” with Huntsman’s active;
  • too much slow weapons switch (mainly with bow);
  • you can take damage using Footknight’s active;
  • Mercenary’s active CD;
  • some weapons (like shielded ones) are 100% useless (while Bardin has two shilded weapons in order to deal with crowd -hammer- and armoured enemies -axe-)…

To be fair, all shields are extremely meh. They were only barely worthwhile in VT1 by virtue of their improved knockback.

I agree.

I think right now the stupidest thing about shields is that they don’t offer any kind of protection against attacks that go through block.

Shields increase your hitbox, and nerf your dodge. This makes it harder to avoid those attacks, to the point where you cannot even dodge them reliably without a preemptive backwalking into the dodge. It’s amazing that something that is supposed to make you tougher to damage actually is a major weakness for you to take damage. Barf+Shield is pretty much a guaranteed hit from a troll overhead, thanks to left/right dodge nerf, that your shield does nothing against.

I didn’t even realize that. Yeah, that’s asinine.

ok i can’t seem to convince you. i find waystalker’s SV killing good, but it can be matched by other classes. the huntsman one shots them with a bow, elf need 2 arrows. (edit: imo a shade’s xbow is the fastest for multiple SV killing. BH volley spam pretty good too, and huntsman for constant drawing and killing)

in my setup, huntsman one shots body shot non-crit everything, except a packmaster. (those darn things have too much hp)

like honestly, i love the waystalker as well, i find her on par with the huntsman (eg. she’s great for everything except shieldvermin and chaos warriors, while the huntsman is excellent at taking out those) but the huntsman is no where as bad as you make it out to be, rofl. her ult ‘press f to delete everything’ doesn’t work in legend when you have 3 chaos warriors bearing down on you, it’s great for sniping things round corners and over building and scampering assassins for sure tho.

we both have strong opinions about the matter - you feel that waystalker is leagues above huntsman, i feel that they’re both on par with different skillsets for tackling different things. let’s agree to disagree.

WS doesn’t need to body-shot though. They have massive heads and her aim is perfect. One shot pretty much every time + ult downs tons + she can 1-shot maulers on crit.

I’m not saying huntsman’s not good mind you. He’s the only one who can reliably take out CW at range other than Pyro or BH.

yea i notice this as well for her longbow, and i don’t understand this particular mechanic. it takes about 5 normal body shots to kill a mauler, but 1 crit instakills them. i don’t think i see the same crazy multiplier when i do crits on bosses (tho i know longbows have increased dmg against bosses normally)

I didn’t start to get it til I got full crit power on her but she gets a pretty massive crit boost, especially when above 50% health. Pretty much double the already fairly beefy crit boost. Think it’s +70% or something. The dmg on em must be calculated different than it is on the dummy though.

For me huntsman just feels so improvised and clunky.
People actually have builds and stuff while Im the guy stacking dmg to oneshot stuff blatantly and 90% of my talents are as good as anything else.
I also never thought that you can literally do blindfire with other ranged careers to replenish ammo.
But what actually annoys me is that in many situations I just cant do my job, taking out elites and specials, since kruber likes to sit around for half an hour after shooting an arrow before he changes weapons. Shooting that stormvermin/packmaster during a horde gets pretty dangerous this way because while BH just deletes the special + crowd and pyro does that sweet press f to kill everything without the need to even change to ranged or any aim I have to cancel and melee or rely on a meatshield.
