Tried leveling a few new characters a few times and each time it’s been a miserable experience playing without a full toolkit. I know how the game works, I understand everything, please just let me bypass the Arbites leveling process and give me the full talent tree.
Frankly I think anyone with enough hours in the game and missions cleared under their belt deserves the “I know how this works, lemme bypass it” button. The fun part for me now is theorycrafting, not discovery.
I agree. I have 4 level 30 characters already. Leveling up a 5th feels a little bit redundant, lol. I’ll do it, but I don’t look forward to grinding up through sedition/uprising/malice.
Nah, in case with PoE skipping the campaign shouldn’t be a thing. Atleast not with the first character in a league, for alts - maybe. Without that it will feel like a half game, castrated expirience and lack of “journey”. It was a thing in D3, and every new character wasn’t feel realy new.
GGG is right when they don’t allow players to optimize everything out of the game.
As someone who fully prestiged every class - it was a slog. It should have been like 5-10 more levels for every prestige rank or if they still want progress reset you just earn prestige rank on 10/15/20/25 level.
I tried to level a new character in duo long time ago, before crafting rework (flechette tier 2 grind anyone?). It wasn’t that bad up till 25 or something. Some time after they buffed expirience gained i think.
Realistically i don’t think they will allow any skip, cause devs want some time investment from the players.
For the first character in a league, I absolutely agree that playing through the campaign would be fine. It’s a nice primer for the league mechanic and regaining your bearings if you’ve taken a break before you throw yourself at maps again.
I’d definitely appreciate a “skip to level 60 with some random junk rares” after that, though. And you’re right - we shouldn’t be able to optimize everything. It stops being a fun game when the best way to make money is to sit in your hideout flipping items and trades.
and how long did it take you? were not talking difficulty were talking invested time.
I tried to play a heresy maelstrom on my second zealot to level up faster and because matchmaking insists on putting low level chars together it ended up as a slogfest duo with a level 16 zealot
There is a thing also that they don’t want to split the community perhaps. Cause either way you need to allow leveling skip only for the players who already have 1 maxed out character.
And you probably will see threads like “i payed the same price, why i’m not allowed to skip grind even if it’s my first character reee”
I don’t remember tbh, cause as i said it was a long time ago. We both started lvl 1 characters, and were just grinding Hab Dreyko rush. What i remember is there was a signifficant exp gained drop somwhere between 20-30 levels.
Currently it depeneds on how exp gained was buffed.
Also i’m not voicing either for allowing to skip leveling or against. I just don’t think it’s realistically to expect they will allow it.
But in a perferct world it probably should be an optional thing for those who have a 30 lvl character already.
I really dont care what they allow or add into the game I will be doing everything humanly possible to reduce the time spent levelling I paid my dues i dont wish to participate further in low level play
I asked a couple times: for starting with a lv30 character, because experienced players having to play with newbies on lower difficulties is like the old “sedition sundays” when I did speedruns just to finish my Melk quests. Ideally I’d get to the end with bots before some complete beginners joined and managed tho ledge themselves or die to the 5 pox walkers I left behind.
