Can we have civil discussion?

Seriously many of the denizens of this forum aught to be ashamed of their behavior. If you disagree with someone and you argue against them but they don’t agree just leave there is no need to call people names because you disagree about game balance. Seriously shame on anyone who takes to name calling over a disagreement on an internet forum.

I agree with what you are saying but keep in mind that this is an Internet forum so my advice would be to just take it as a grain of salt don’t let it get to you.

Not that it’s bothering me in that way but i think people should recognize that their behavior is inappropriate. The internet facilitates this behavior to the upmost.

I made a poll about whats better DS or inferno staff and the arguments it devolved into in my absence was shameful.
I knew the idea was controversial but wanted to see what more people thought.

I think that people know that what they say is inappropriate, that’s why they say it (not saying what they say is right). Best way it avoids it is to just ignore it.

Plus another thing if people get that upset at a game then it’s just not worth the time and emotional energy to get involved.

I kinda wanted to just call people out in general to maybe make them consider more in the future.

I get that, but keep in mind that peeps don’t know you and you don’t know them so don’t expect much of change especially if they say mean stuff to randoms like you and me.

Don’t put the forum on blast just because a few of your conversations went south.

Welcome to the internet, where nobody is allowed to have nice things  :joy: :sob:

Honestly though, relative to most other game discussion platforms (and many 40k-related online spaces), this place is relatively tame, focused, and well mannered.

just look at some dueling sword balance discussions it gets out of hand fast just because things can be bad doesn’t mean we cant recognize that and strive to be better.

Trying to debate with some of the people on this forum or any online forum is the equivalent of trying to debate with an actual brick wall. What’s worse, you’d have a better chance debating with a brick wall because at least an inanimate object isn’t capable of creating completely fairy tale like scenarios to fit into their ideas of right and wrong.

Some people operate under the guise of “Ignorance is bliss” and they will take that mentality to their grave. You could provide all the factual information in the world and people will still hold onto their dumba** view all in the name of pride and ego. That’s my personal reasoning if I escalate a conversation from talking to insults. Is it the most mature thing to do? Probably not. At the end of the day though if you are purposely taking a stance against common sense and reasoning so you get to say “I was right!” when you sleep at night, better believe I am going to call you out for being a moron.

Just a question what if it’s not a matter of “I was right” but just opinion.

Everyone is going to have an opinion so there’s nothing wrong with that. Some subjects though I feel like there are clear and distinct lines for right and wrong and people try to create their own path based on their ideas/views even though the answer isn’t based on emotion or world views, it’s based on common sense.
