Can we have actual bosses?

At least in Vermintide 2 we had:

  • Chaos Champion that, after wounded enough, it converted into Chaos Spawn.
  • An engineer/wizard Skaven that had a Rat Ogre as pet.
  • A Chaos champion (with a horrible and sad name), who was very powerful, with special moves… and sometimes was bugged and flyed through walls.
  • A skaven warlord… that could be killed in… less than 1 second. But hey, it was fun.
  • Burble bur… whatever.
  • And the other Nurgle fat wizard flying around, placing dangerous circles.

Right now I don’t remember more, but… enough examples.

Thanks for reading.

Agree. At the moment the only actual bosses DT currently has are Karnak Twins and, probably, demonhosts

Finally got a decent rig and been catching up on Space Marine 2, boss battles are very fun and intense… and though the combat is kind of bland its more challenging / punishing… and even less power fantasy than current Arbites class.

And I support you.

You know, if Chaosbane can have individuals kill multiple Greater Daemons, can’t our four dudes together fight a dang Great Unclean One?

By lore… I would say NO.

That giant and powerful thing would kill us all.

Lore in Warhammer is pretty flexible. And frankly, I don’t give a damn. Fatshark should stop gating fun behind lore reasons.

Bumpernickel HumptyDumpty actually.

Yes I would like for them to keep adding Twins type maps to the game in tandem with regular maps

They let other games, like Chaosbane, go wild with singular heroes decimating hordes of daemons and taking on Greater Daemons. They also did the same in Boltgun, which, from what I understand, is a somewhat canon story. So I don’t think it’s GW doing it, I think it’s Fatshark being waaay too conservative.

Our characters already slay Chaos Spawn, Beasts of Nurgle, and Plague Ogryns by the handful. We banish daemons on the regular, both Daemonhosts and the ones that infect certain places in the world. Our dudes are not weak.

Chaos spawns are not so powerful.

A Greater Daemon is called “greater” for something.

I prefer them being conservative.

BUT I am sure they need to add bosses, and some special enemies. Some plaguebearers in some missions, insect enemies, etc.

I’d rather have fun.

Putting in things like Greater Daemons as some kind of big boss fight would not break lore, it’s not dumpstering it. I think that’s absolutely fine.

I wouldn’t be against this but for a Great Unclean one it would have to be one of those fights where the boss is the size of a building and you have to run around as your cover gets destroyed.

Could make use of some environmental Stuff to defeat it like in SM2 where you use the targeting Device and Turrets to kill the Biotitan
