Can we have 5 Curios on Melks section for all classes just like Arbites does?

First day I played Arbites I thought it was a bug, but everyone has 5 curios available (the vast majority of times) in Melks daily store

I wonder why was this done for Arbites, but not added for all other classes. This could easily be a way to help the Curio problem people brought up a while ago

Absolutely not. I rather have him offer more weapons than pointless curios.

You are only ever going to pick 3, once they are “max” in their primary stat (or close to.. because does 1% really matter all that much?) you simply exchange the Perks as you need them. (Even if you would go for 3 of every Primary type it would only be 9 Curios and you can get them from Brunt just the same - No point in wasting expensive Melk Coins on curios)

So why are there this many Curios on offer? I’d much rather have Melk offer weapons. At least with Weapons there is a reason to hope for the right (max) stat distribution and unlike Curios there is actually a point in having multiple weapons for different Marks (so you don’t need to change around blessings).

You don’t even get resources from selling Curios.. they are absolutely dead space.

I’d really wish they’d remove all those Curios and replace them with weapon options with Melk.

Because weapons you can just roll on Brunt’s. There is no good equivalent for curios, it’s a pain in the rectum to check what you get from Melk’s Mystery Boxes.

Congratulations on having today’s contrarian take.

Weapons are at an all time availability with very frequent perfect roll green/blue in Brunt’s and the ability to roll them pretty easily from the random buy (with the easiest currency to accrue).

While 2 curios change out hourly and 1 daily at melk, and melk’s random shop offering 400+ at a very low rate.

This gotta be bait LOL

“I want melk to offer weapons I could roll for in Brunt’s armory instead”

Why are you buying weapons from Melk?

just have him sell upgradeable curios. having to still camp the shop for curios because they have been left out of unlocked is ridiculous.

Buying from Melk can save a a lot of dockets if you get a weapon at 500 rating compared to having to pay to go from 300 at brunt’s up to 500.

Sometimes I forget that dockets are actually a limitation for some people, I have been sitting on 25000000 for a long time.

That’s a completely viable reason to use melk for players new and old, and I did just that while leveling my space cop, even though I want not for resources.

But, if you enjoy the game and keep playing long enough, you will hit a point where you are post-scarcity and perfect curios will likely still elude you while rolling a perfect weapon on a whim is just a handful of button presses. Hell I’ve done it so many times just to test things and decided against it and scrapped it, new players would hate my waste (and I’d gladly donate some diamantine if possible).

What melk already offers for weapons is plenty. Does not need to be enhanced instead of curios.

It makes sense for new players. Otherwise his weapons basically never have that perfect 4x 80 + 1x 60 distribution. It’s cheaper in terms of gaming time invested to build your own stuff when you have tons of materials.

It’s funny - I have about 820 hours in DT, and like less than 20k plasteel, about 25k diamantine, and like $225k dockets. Granted, I spent a lot of resources when unlocked and loaded came out getting all the weapons available at the time up to max mastery and 2-3 maxed copies of most weapons on each of the characters. Been burning a lot getting a full set of weapons on the Arbiter now.

Anyway, it’s always funny when I see people with millions of dockets, because I’ve been playing for 800 hours and never had close to that stockpile. Either people were not spending as much or “playing a lot” is more like many 1,000s of hours?

I can’t honestly understand why we can’t craft perfect Curios like we do with weapons. It’s like Fatshark left on purpose some RNG after Crafting System rework. Very rude

Holy crap dude, how?
I have the same amount of hours, have at least 1 of every weapon god rolled and fully leveled on all 5 chars, and bought all commissary (is that the in game cosmetics store name) items as my last docket sink.

I’m sitting at ~8mil dockets, ~60k plasteel, ~40k diamantine i think after the space cop investment.

Legit how do you have so little? Do you only use weapons for 1 mission? Do you not pick up currency?

I way underestimated:

Were the amounts/rates a lot lower back when you did the bulk of your playtime?

I have 1900+ hours

That actually can be the point - with economy totally busted and people devoid of any thrill of getting some new shiny thing after about 150hrs in game, when you probably already have all classes maxed out and the most necessary gear maxxed out for them too. Then the curios is the only thing you still can “grind for”, in a way. Otherwise to many (me including) it just feels stale, when you play mission after mission, with your resources just sitting there, for no purpose, getting nothing in reward from those missions, effectively.

No idea why it’s different for Arbites though, may be because it’s paid DLCs so they wanted to sugar it up even more.

This kind of RNG is not grind. Grind should have some progression, however miniscule. Melk does not, it’s pure gambling.

I really like to have 5 curious options on Melks.

I want it for all chars too.

It is my absolute least favourite part of levelling a new character to have to wait and pray for RNG to bless this ravaged body with near/perfect curios.

I SUPPOSE that a few % toughness/hp doesn’t make the absolute biggest difference in the grand scheme of things, but I wants it, yes yes I do.

Just seems like a completely unnecessary time and sanity sink.

You can’t get fully empowered weapons from brunt. Its over 3k plasteel to fully upgrade a brunt weapon in a time when most players don’t even pick up stuff in the level anymore. Melk is much more interesting as a source of weapons. Brunt has 2 curious every hour (should be more) and it took me 3 days of 4 hour sessions to get two 21% health curios (and one 20% one), two +3 stamina curious and three +16 toughness curios. The +17% toughness curios are still elusive, but as i wrote in my reply 1% isn’t going to make or break anything when it comes to toughness (or health).

Sure, i’ll keep an eye on Brunt’s store until i get those 17% ones… but i’ll never ever again need a curio. Consequently it is absolutely dead space to have all those curios at melk and i’d much rather have him sell ready to use weapons.

The chances that a patch will change the balance on a weapon, or importance of stats, is far greater than the chance of the completely revamping the curio system. At least with weapons there is the off chance that i want to grab a 2nd Axe or Shotgun for a build. But there is not going to be ever any situation in which i need another curio once i upgraded three health and toughness curios and one or two stamina curios.

And brunt seems to alway carry a wound curio, but then again, aside from Zealots i don’t really see the point in them, for myself, anyway.

I mean, honestly, Melk’s shop will be utterly useless once i am having all weapons on the Arbites again, but at least with weapons there is a chance i might ever need a new one and then having him carry more is better. I really don’t think i’ll ever need another curio.

Can’t speak for others but i have over 1k hours in this game and less than 20k plasteel and 2,5 mil dockets.

Buddy of mine, whom i am playing with has a stash like yours.

Difference between him and me? I OCDed and built more weapons and collected all blessings before the update that revamped the items. Which meant i frequently bought green weapons in brunts shop and upgraded them once.

Upgrading the weapons for my Arbites completely wiped me out on plasteel. I can bury people in useless diamantine.
