Broken Respawns

Sad to report that an update within the last 24 hours (perhaps to VMF?) has really messed up the respawn locations.

People are spawning on top of each other, and in some cases, spawning much further away than intended. This was observed on multiple maps, including Horn of Magnus and Enchanter’s Lair.

A way to reproduce and observe it would be to kill all players except one, and then see what slots are filled.

This is an annoying issue because the clutch-ability of a game is directly related to how feasible it is for a player to get to their dead teammates.


Eh, this has always been around albeit triggering somewhat randomly and more or less frequently, but for instance the respawns in skittergate and ratlord lair have always been rather bonkers.

@I2ain could you please upload your most recent console logs? It would be very helpful.

Your console logs can be located in the Vermintide 2 AppData directory using the instructions below:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Vermintide 2\console_logs

Thanks in advance! (552.8 KB) @FatsharkLev Hi Lev! Sorry for the delay here. I was playing tonight and observed a similar phenomenon. Attached are the console logs for this evening (I was host). Here is a twitch clip for another example of it occurring.

As far as I can tell, it is as if slots do not appear available in the respawn pool, and it is cascading spawns further and further out. In this case, I was the last to die, but our Foot Knight here did not go any further than where he is seen in the clip. There is no case in which that should spawn me after The Pit event.
