Broken Arbites Talents: Unacceptable State of Paid Content

At the request of @FatsharkJulia I’m making this thread in a general discussion category (for as yet unknown reasons).

This bug report was opened 9 days ago:

as well as my own (that may or may not be related):

1 day later, Julia informed us that the fix had already been identified and prepared by the team:

Hopes were high and tone was thankful until 6 days later we were notified that, even though the fix existed and was forthcoming in a HOTfix, this would not come until an unknown August date:

Tone, understandably, shifted. This is unacceptable. And also not a HOTfix

FS sold us a product, broke it (a few times), apparently fixed it, but have decided to sit on that fix for a month.

All facts up till now, but here’s my personal bent: I love the pro-labor stance their culture allows. But this is an entertainment industry that sells a product and they have decided to participate in it. Those products, when purchased, are expected to work. They also just made beaucoup bucks on that very DLC. They can have a dev/manager come in for some overtime pay to push the already existing fix. Even if that puts us back to the kill everything bleed dog state, at least 2/3 keystones won’t be broken and we can play the damn content we paid for.

I had my share of angry rants at Fatshark, but this feels a bit like a storm in a teacup. This will be fixed relatively soon. It is not game breaking, and just another day at Fatshark.

Please no.

I rather have Arbites be a bit underwhelming rather than him being able to ruin the game for everyone for the entire summer break.

truth be told, as unprofessional it looks as a whole situation, i can´t see the arbites WITH all this left tree stuff “working as intended”

i use dead notes out of laziness and the way he forgives certain misplays of mine is already beyond “plot armor”

setting them active again in the way numbers would dictate, bleed dogs would pale in comparison to the one man armies clearing high end stuff while the other hand :eggplant: :raised_fist:

It’s no secret I think it’s busted. But I was having fun trying to force lone wolf builds for subpar weapons on the left tree, like a gunslinger revolver beat cop or the non-slug shotguns marks.

no argument here, still i think not having these stuff active right now despite being “part of the product” is better for how overall matches play out in the meantime than having 100% 10 minutes auric maelstrom speedruns.

not everyone shows restraint, some are starved for acolytes they otherwise never get

think you mean “accolades” meine freund

absolutely, i leave it that way as standing corrected.
3hours sleep and another infection on top the “usual” chemo side effects since tuesday mess with “mein Englisch”

among other things :face_with_bags_under_eyes:

Keeping Protocol not stacking

Damn happy Swedes

I swear the engine is responsible for half this nonsense.

Agreed. And I now laugh at the naive hope I used to have, and some helldivers still do, that AH could “just get some help” from FS to fix it, since FS are the worldwide experts on Bitsquid by now.

I think there is no help in ‘fixing’ it. This thing is pretty clearly Creation Engine/Gamebryo levels of cursed nonsense.

indeed. At least FS seem to know it much better, what with actually implementing DLSS and rarely, if ever, pushing actual game-breaking bugs like AH constantly does.

this is their vacation month for the country, nothing will get done until september

I firmly believe everyone deserves holidays like this. There are always things in a live service game that needs fixing, and sometimes they will have to wait.

BUT quickly targeting “unintended interactions” (the Puncture Bleed + Dog Explosion combo, which was maybe too strong, but definitely consistent with how the rest of the game works), break stuff and causing massive unintended nerfs, not taking responsibility for it, and THEN GO ON HOLIDAY. That’s quite bad…

my guess is they tested a branch fix for a potential hotfix before leaving, but it had some unintended side effects or introduced some new bugs. Sometimes can happen. They didn’t have the resources at the time to work on those so withheld until they are at full steam again.

If this indeed the case, they could simply tell us and everyone (mostly) would understand.

As per usual its the lack of comms that is the most frustrating. (note this is obviously not the fault of the CMs, so please don’t take it out on them…don’t shoot the messenger etc etc).

They went so far with the immersion that even the engine is infected by a Nurgle demon, not allowing proper function.

I reckon you’re probably right and the biggest crux of the sour attitude is being told it’s already fixed but you’re not getting it.

@FatsharkJulia Welcome back, hope your break was restful.

Are you able and willing to address this question? Just asking so we know how to best help you help us.
