- Shotgun is completely outclassed by braced autoguns, they’re better in everything.
1 shotgun shot deals as much damage as 2 agripina BAG bullets. BAGs have more dps, more range, better ammo efficiency and faster reload. - All lasguns but XII are completely outclassed by agripinaa/graia infantry autoguns.
They have about the same ammo efficiency, but AGs have simply more DPS and they also work better against flak. - All headhunter autoguns are completely outclassed by, well, almost everything.
Very low dps with no distinct bonuses to outweight it - All pistols are useless
Way too little damage at all ranges with nothing to outweight low dps.
Revolver also has tiny magazine size and 1000 years reload. - Plasma rifle is still bad
The whole venting mechanic damaging the player and how fast plasma gun heats up makes it impossible to use against smaller targets in large quantities (so T4+).
Bad DPS, many interesting features like piercing walls, big magazine size, perfect accuracy/infinite range but it’s still not enough to compensate for TINY effective dps (dps that counts in time spent on venting/reloading/being dead due to venting to zero hp and then dying to two small hits, etc.) - Hellbore is basically bad bolter
This gun allows killing even armored elites with headshots and killing shooters with bodyshots, however bolter can do those things too, and both guns have huge delay before they can shoot on switching.
Suggestions (random, may be or may not be implemented together):
- Shotgun
Should hit for around 950, spread is increased massively. Special ammo now provides armor pierce. - Semi auto lasguns should be properly balanced against mobs’ damage thresholds. Auto lasguns should get flat dps increase.
- Headhunter AGs should have HUGE weak spot bonus. Like 500% or something. Without this they won’t compete with IAGs.
- Pistols need some unique qualities. Like auto reloading while using melee, recieving ammo on crits/headshots/melee hits etc., then they should be balanced around that accordingly. Revolver should get a proper special attack like “fanning” and should have massively reduced reload time.
- Venting shouldn’t damage player. Passive venting shouldn’t stop while shooting. 2-3 meter AoE with no damage loss could be a nice feature. Flat damage increase to meet damnation’s damage thresholds. Massively increased stagger. Massively reduced reload time.
- Fast switching animation. Charged shots pierce targets. Damage increase on bodyshots.
P.S. Power sword is still the best melee weapon in the game.
