BLO Keystone Alternative (Come Ponder With Me)

With all the shade being thrown on Ogryn lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about Burst Limiter Override. It’s random, restrictive and ultimately not very popular, even after the buff to its figures. But, I still very much like the thought of having a gun-focused Keystone for gluggers and the like. So indulge me as I ponder a possible alternative, and feel free to share your own ponderings below.

Rules. I’m following them, but ye needn’t.

1.) Must be “Gun Lugger” themed.
2.) Has the same number and arrangement of nodes as the current keystone.
3.) Uses variables (x, y, z, etc) instead of real numbers. Pretend said variables are the “Optimal” value to make an ability useful but not overtuned.
4.) Still useful for “flex” builds (Builds that don’t run Stubbers and PBB)

The Long Haul.

Increases the ammo reserves of all teammates by x%. Whenever you activate your combat ability, you refill your private reserve of ammo by y% of the missing amount. This effect has a cooldown of z seconds.

Running Dry. As you run out of reserve ammo, your movement speed increases up to x%. (Locks out “Beast of Burden”)

Beast of Burden. You start the mission with a deployable ammo cache. (Locks out “Running Dry”)

Enough to Share. Whenever you pick up ammo, x% of said amount is also given to allies in coherency. Whenever a teammate in coherency picks up ammo, y% is also given to you.

As you can see, the premise here isn’t just to make the gunlugger lifestyle more sustainable, but also provide your allies with enough bullets to maintain a full team of lead-sprayers. No longer do you have to fight the gunker for scraps and as a bonus, your presence alone would help take the edge off of Havoc’s resource drain, thus opening up more team/build variety for that mode.

I’d very much like to change the standard impression from “Oh no, a Glugger! Hide the ammo!” to “Oh yes, a Glugger! We’re getting more ammo!”

Buuuut probably not optimal if your teammates are all staff psykers. But then you get all the ammo anyways so, win-win!

The idea of Enough To Share is actually really cool and I think could be worth considering. Dakkagryns are pretty vulnerable while unloading, so encouraging more team cohesion while enabling them to shoot more would be neat.

I like this, I think this would be a very good way of doing things. Lean into the Ogryns ‘heavily team focused’ design philosophy, let him dakka as much as the the Glugger wants to without begging for a Survivalist Veteran, while also still just being able to go that much further with said Veteran with them. I think this would be a great change!
