Is not Ogryn can’t be caught. Ogryn can get caught, same as everyone. Net, dog, yeah. But idea is… if Ogryn still got wound left, he can go RAARGH and bust out, but it hurt! Wound go bye-bye!
If no wound left? Then Ogryn stay stuck, like normal. He not magic. He not ghost. He just big, and mad, and don’t like sittin’ on ground like useless grox.
Ain’t cheaty. Ain’t easy. Is just… STRONG Ogryn doin’ STRONG thing, but payin’ for it. You give somethin’, you get somethin’. That’s how it go, right?
Look, I ain’t sayin’ Ogryn need to be unfair… I’m sayin’ Ogryn need to be Ogryn.
Ogryn is already big, right? Already strong. So makin’ him do strong things ain’t a buff… it’s just tellin’ the truth louder!
Ogryn break doors. Ogryn carry cannon. Ogryn punch Chaos man into wall. But when dog jump on him, he just wiggle and cry? Nahhh, that’s wrong. That’s broken. World don’t work like that.
So lemme say it again. Ogryn ain’t gettin’ no easy way out. He PAYIN’ for it. Wound gone. Hurt bad. But he still standin’. Still fightin’. That’s balance, innit?
You wanna buff someone for no reason, you buff one o’ them tiny sharpshooty fellas. But this? This ain’t buff. This just fixin’ the mistake that made Ogryn look weak when he ain’t.
You’re making assumptions. I do play Ogryn, but when I want to avoid getting netted, I just don’t pick him. Don’t get mad just because the solution actually works.
In other words, if you play Ogyrn, you’re going to get netted, eventually, he’s a thiccc boy, and those nets go through hordes. So if you don’t want to get netted, don’t play Ogyrn.
disablers are ingame for reasons of pacing, movement and at least at some tiny point in time “need your mates” when you fugged up.
giving arbites the dog-free card is already negating one type of disabler, net being the remaining oh-sheet factor in the rock/paper/scissor balance.
and much like chess it wouldnt be much of a game if suddenly tower could nuke the whole board from orbit cause “build like a brick sh!t house, watchu gonna do if tower drops on you”
look, i love my ogryn, dearly.
bought more mcfarlane artist proof big lads than i can display in my diorama once its finished.
Your solution relies heavily on a specific build, and honestly, you’re arguing in bad faith while I’m just trying to keep things lighthearted. No matter how “skilled” you are, everyone gets caught by a net or hound eventually, it happens. And let’s not pretend Ogryns aren’t more vulnerable to it. Their size and low mobility make them easy targets, and everyone knows it.
No, it is not a specific build, and I’m unfortunately disinclined to believe you’ve even done the bare minimum of looking into how Ogryn’s talents, baseline abilities, and overall toolkit work since you’re making the suggestion in the first place. Also you aren’t getting netted through hordes because your dodges push anything that isn’t a specialist/elite out of the way (OGRYN DOES THIS WITHOUT ANY TALENTS), and two of his abilities literally knock every enemy around you flat on their arse.
We in the business refer to this as a “skill issue” if that’s your excuse for getting netted on Ogryn, because that’s not an Ogryn exclusive problem, and if anything, he has the easiest time dealing with Trappers through hordes. You just haven’t even bothered doing the bare minimum to avoid being hit with it, so you want a crutch talent to avoid interacting with it.
Well maybe taunt pulsses could push off hound from ogryn, but net should be as it is now also keep in mind net is electrified so its make sense anyone catch is vurbable to attacks.
What are you talking about? You literally said; “Feel No Pain + Pained Outburst” that is dependent on a build, it requires choosing those perks.
More importantly, my suggestion has nothing to do with builds or player skill. It’s about letting an Ogryn spend a wound to break free from a net or hound, which fits the lore. Ogryn are absurdly strong, even said to be stronger than Astartes. And let’s be real: no Astartes is getting pinned by a Trapper’s net or mauled by a pox hound without breaking free.
