Beast of Nurgle need tweaking. "Go ahead and cancel me idc"

yes, that depends if people have bad priorities/timings
getting the vomit also makes the bon going in your direction a bit, which in that window of time, people should dump ranged on their back and it will be dead very quick

and if the boss turns back to the others, then you can as well dump ranged on BoN’s back
it’s just strategy with timings but people/randoms have usually no coordination

Bon bons…my favourite

i also had a game with lot of BoNs and other bosses but i melt them all

bosses die too quickly to be honest, they are very weak in general

I haven’t seen a boss live longer than 10 seconds ever since the duel sword meta, so I guess it’s kind of understandable people don’t learn how to fight them

At first after seeing topic name i thought it would be cool to see beast of nurgle getting some love. And then i read about nerfing it, which is funny. Its already one of, if not the most, weakest bosses in the game.
It can be deleted in short time because its slow, easy to kite and have a really big target practice on the back. while it agroed on one players, others can easy deal a massive chunk of damage, which is not that easy to achieve with chaos spawn, because its head always jumps around.
Even if you get spit on, you have plenty of time to move away, which should be done.
Giving beast of nurgle big cooldown on spits will make him too idle and even easier to deal with.
Making his grab dodgeable will make his one of the few moves not punishing at all, because you can dodge his spit.
Saying you can’t dodge it point blank is another funny point, because you DON’T NEED to hug it, your attack range gives you enough range.
And if you’re lone survivor, you’re expected to die, but still can overcome the situation and clutch against all odds.
“But thats pain in the ass to fight it solo!” the thing is - you’re not supposed to, it IS a coop game after all, and you have 3 other asses in your team, this is why its weakspot is on the back.

Plague ogryn is a puss puss needs buffing tbh

Plague ogryns are weaker than a crusher wym

yea i think all bosses should get slightly an increase of hp to make them a real threat because for now they die so easily. even with just 2/3 kraks grenades from veteran, it deals so massive damage to them.

plague ogryn is kinda like the rat ogre, possible to even do the rat ogre dance to keep it on place which disables its charge mechanic which is the only dangerous thing about plague ogryn due to cliffs etc.

chaos spawn it is also possible to keep it in place with a dance, baiting the stomp attacks, but majority of people just dodge backwards which is bad because the grab can still get you even if you dodge before or at the right moment, hence why dodging to the right diagonal is better cause sometimes it can stay frozen in place spamming stomp attacks while also avoiding the grab which is better than the series of attacks and moving.

beast of nurgle can be annoying with the corruption over the place, but also possible to sneak around and getting their back and deal massive damage with ranged. even though melee works fine when fighting BoN, imo is one of the boss where ranged makes more sense cause more safer. having lot of corruption / and being slowed down by the vomit, will Beast of Nurgle be more likely to grab you finding you, thats why ranged is better cause it keeps the distance. the vomit can slow you down a lot for lot of seconds

they dont need an hp increase, unyielding damage is absolutely through the roof on everything other than shock mauls, nerf that instead

bosses are a complete joke in this game

A boss’s main weakness being ranged in a melee game is not fun.

well you can also use melee on the back of beast of nurgle as well without getting the vomit and grab, it was something similar like the flamethrower boss in VT2 where they were more weaker on the back. ranged makes more sense cause more comfortable and safer

and DT is also more oriented with ranging than vt2, but everytime people fighting BoN they dont use strategy, they just getting puked without even using stimms etc.

I wouldn’t say it’s a ranged weakness boss, meleeing just requires you to dodge the slams which isn’t that bad once you learn only distance will help. It takes vastly more damage from melee attacks, especially on weakspot hits. Only the tail is borderline damage immune.

It’s also the only boss you can consistently weakspot hit from behind, which makes zealot damage go crazy. Or raking fire. Or really any of the high damage weakspot reliant builds in the game like scriers gaze or vet stuff in general that can’t do a lot of damage to bosses from behind otherwise

I think the trouble with BON is that the grab (to eat) swipe doesn’t have enough warning and is admittedly a very quick action. If BON gave a big audio cue or something then it would be better.

Currently absolutely no one wants to go near the thing because it’s so damn easy to get gobbled. This makes it a purely ranged battle that, without a nuke carrying Ogryn or super niche Thammer zealot, can take bloody ages to kill.

It’s not so annoying if its every now and then but 7-10 in 1 mission is pure sarcasm.

If it had a better audio cue to allow a counter then people might allow themselves to get close and melee it.

The telegraph for the grab is getting spit on. It can’t actually eat you unless you’re covered in slime.
OP has been saying this too but it just makes no sense to me. If you’re spitted on, it will grab you if you’re close. You can dodge the spit. It’s entirely fair and telegraphed.

Avoiding the grab = dodge the spit or run away if you get slimed. If you think this is unfair wait until you learn how many moves in advance you have to think about in chess

You play it like a game of tennis.

1-2 players grab its attention, other side of players flank to hit weakspot few times. It turns very quickly, literally something that big can do quick 180  and other players opposite take over briefly. It is back and forth so really you want to lure into open area for this. It is the one monstrosity where ranged weapon is actually effective against it’s weakspot. People try to conserve ammo for next stage of mission, worry about that later, just magazine empty it all and cross that bridge later.

The movement suppression from it’s ground spit, snap 90 look left or right and dodge sideways as we have no “forward dodge” as your actual means of movement over it, than trying to forward sprint through or bunny hop over it.

Sounds easy in principle - But in some random games people just run away from it and just deal with easy horde elsewhere leaving the problem to someone else. Even if can’t do good damage, you can buy someone else time to flank it by holding it’s attention.

I am 100% sure I’ve been gobbled without being spit on though.

If that is the actual intended mechanic, it’s about as clear as obsidian. After 1k hours of playing I had no idea there was correlation between being spit on and being gobbled.

As I say I’m certain I’ve been gobbled without gooped first.

And I don’t think the boss is difficult, but it is quite tedious when there is multiple of them in quick succession or at the same time.

Also a gentle reminder that we’re not all zippy zealots who have the speed and stamina to practically fly and dodge the never ending goop lol.

The grab is OP AF with literally 0 cd. I have played games where as Ogryn i was eaten, released, eaten again, looped 3 times in a row in a 6 second period. Absolutely unacceptable. The range of the grab being 10m+ and through walls/cover is also insane.

Step in goop, get primed for eatin’ in my experience… must avoid goop.

This is absolutely the only issue I take with BON… That and in some maps that aren’t big enough it clips through geometry and can just spit you out of the map…

You’ve never once been gobbled without being gooped?
