Bought the game yesterday, but can’t start playing because I get the error message “Backend Error : COULDNT_CONNECT”

I’ve excluded the game from my firewall, and even disabled the firewall entirely but it didn’t seem to help. Everything seems okay with my internet connection.
Maybe it’s a server issue? Although other people are able to play the game, so I assume not.
I reinstalled the game but it didn’t help.

Hm I can’t even seem to locate your account in our backend, could you try booting up once more?

Just to clarify, I get the error when initially booting up the game, after the Fatshark and Games Workshop logos, so I’m not even getting to the main menu

I suppose the connection is breaking before it can even create a profile in our backend!

Are you using a VPN, Proxy or anything else that could be interfering with your connection?

Additionally, have you recently made any changes to your computer’s hosts? (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc)

Good news, the problem is gone! The license of my antivirus had expired and I think it somehow made the firewall act strange, not letting the game connect to its servers even though it should have

I renewed the license today and now the game is working. Sorry to have bothered you :slight_smile:
