There are days where I have internet issues, either I’m being throttled as I’ve exceeded my quota, or my flatmate is downloading crap, and I don’t want to inflict my poor internet on other players.
It would be nice if I could select an option where when I select quick join it waits for 30 second or so before using me as the host. Most of the time I don’t mind being the host, but there are occasions where it’s just not a good idea.
I’m sure there are other plays out there who have similar issues or have an unreliable host that crashes, where they would like some way to only host as a last resort.
OK, so I should have done more than a cursory search before posting this. or are you backing up the suggestion? Either way add me to the list of users who support the idea. (though I’m not sure about the quick play private host that you suggest, that seems counter productive in a team game, I thought the extra loot chance from quickplay was a mechanic designed to get you to play with others.)
I am just posting the links, the interpretation is up to you. Though since you asked, I think it’s better to bump the old post, to stack some weight on it. Though I do not insist - again it’s up to you. But it would be nice to add up a link still.
You can already make quick play private. This suggestion is just the next logical step. Also I don’t see why players shouldn’t be allowed to play with the bots, or with 1 or 2 friends. That’s what I call counter-productive.
I would have though that the extra loot chance was on offer if you’re happy to pick up randoms at the start of the game. Fatshark could just as easily go the other way and remove the private options on quick play entirely. I guess it depends on what they are trying to achieve with the quick play loot bonus. That said, as I have no inside info on what they are trying to achieve with it. You may be right.
Yeah, and then 2 and 3 player groups are going to be pushed around compared to 4-player groups, because the later will be able to make games effectively private. And even 3-player groups will be able to kick everyone they don’t like, instead of simply setting game to private.
Also, if some of your friends disconnect, you will likely end up playing with randoms. Another cool feature of removing private checkbox.
Also, if FS tried to achieve something different with quickplay bonus, they wouldn’t have allowed private games and quickplay groups from the start - would they.
