You understand the only thing this would ever actually get used for is kicking people who donât have the prestiege levels to make bad players happy, right? I mean you can stuff your âno iâm sure this community is mature enough for thatâ lies, they already constantly look for excuses to blame each other for every little mistake adding this would just throw petrol into that fire.
i mean you could say that for anything.
a player could say im ganna kick you for the weapon your using, because its not -META-
" ehh your using a heavy las pistol, Kick,
so ya i dont see this as being a problem as players who would kick for something like that would likely kick you for anything else as well, so i wont worry about that.
this is just an argument that the playerbase doesnât deserve votekicks because it canât be trusted with them.
When you are levelling your character from lvl. 1 to lvl. 30 your character is getting better but itâs fine because (in most cases) you are learning the game mechanics and to play the specific class.
But once your character is lvl. 30 it is endgame ready and should not get any better. From that point it is only you the player who gets better.
I have to agree with people who mentioned that these âuniversal pointsâ would ruin the idea of a skill tree. You brought Vetâs talent tree as an example and I have a feeling that you got this idea because you simply donât like it. I donât like it either - I think it is a poor design at itâs current state. I even wrote a post about it here: Vet's talent tree is good but not great (details there). Anyway, trees can be improved. My point is that all players above lvl. 30 should have access to the same nodes and the tree should branch from the top and remain uninterrupted.
I do like the idea of an Auric Prestige System. I do think that levelling above 30 should be rewarded but the rewards should not effect the gameplay directly.
I like the idea. Assuming a complete reset would happen with every prestige level, this could move some of the experienced players temporarily to lower difficulties, allowing the newer guys to learn from the veterans on the way to Damnation and not firstly after arriving there.
The Universal Skill sounds neat, but I can imagine, that it would be tough to balance. Still, a minor / moderate buff, cosmetic effect or something similar would be a welcome addition. Payday has infamy, DRG has sweet portrait frames, there is something in store for Darktide too
people lose their minds at seeing a sub-30 when they play malice, nobody in this game is going to accept anything that might lump them in with âlesserâ players even if darktide wasnât almost to payday levels of toxic already.
well im not quite sure how to make darktide less toxic.
i havent seen much in the way of Toxic players, and i run what ever i want.
though i am lv30 in all characters so maybe thats why. not sure.
i usually try to help players learn more about the game as we play.
i find teaching and carrying newer players fun,
my original idea was this, but many players said they would quit if this was the case so i changed it
I definitely donât mind prestige system itself, but as others have said giving extra power is definitely not the way you should go.
If it has to be some type of point tree, then most these points should be something generic that improve say crafting or material acquisition, but even that is questionable. The new player crafting floor is already idiotic as it is.
Cosmetics, frames, etc? Yeah Iâm all game for that.
perhaps
id be down for that
i would like a special Color for all weapons
perhaps something gold on first prestige
silver on second, crystal on third, ect
I have zero desire to regrind stuff and level up again, much less try to do so potentially 30x times. Iâve seen this sort of thing in other games, such as World of Warshipâs Research Bureau. Itâs just not the kind of thing that appeals to me. I donât so much mind the rest of it in concept, but in general stuff that is built around erasing progress and regrinding it doesnât do much for me.
i could get behind this
Hi @AndiNagasaki,
Iâve noticed a pattern in your posting habits and was curious about something. It seems that you often post a comment on your own threads just before the 7-day mark. I was wondering, is this coincidental, or is there a specific reason behind this timing? Additionally, Iâm interested in understanding your perspective on the concept of ânecroingâ a thread. I myself am curious if this is necroing or just keeping the thread on âlife supportâ. Could you share your thoughts on this distinction?
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your insight!
Best regards, Nurax
Experience after level 30 needs to do something, but unsure if Prestige stat bonuses are ideal because it would very quickly trivialize the game. Many people are over true level 1000, so if they ended up getting like +10% dmg, 10% cooldown reduction, 10% rending, 10% sprint speed, their in-game performance levels would make the other players look quite weak. Unlocking extra talent nodes would be even more overpowered.
I always assumed we would use the extra XP to unlock more weapon skins, player customizations, emotes, etc. very obvious ways to increase player long-term engagement.
i get a notification after 5 days of me not replying to a topic, and i respond to what i can when i can.
