Are Grims worth carrying?

Grims give XP and cash, which are nearly worhless at endgame, and only moderately useful while levelling. At the same time, they make the runs much harder, esp when levelling.

I really cant see much reason to take grim contracts and perks, when grims bring no real benefit.

Grimoires feel very unrewarding compared to the risk, because they constantly bleed your health.
FS should fix them by removing the bleed and make it be like how they were in VT, and they should increase your rewards greatly and give a bigger chance for a good weapon reward.

They are completely useless unless you haven’t swapped out your “collect 12 grimoires” contract for the week. They make it harder to survive and the rewards are an absolute pittance, especially at level 30 when a tiny slice of XP and dockets are worthless.

Completely not worth picking up unless you have a weekly to get them. No true reward for picking them up, only pain.

it’s not so worthy for the weekly either bc melk’s items are also crappy 99% of the time.

Above Malice I’d say they’re not worth anything. Most times people playing that tier are already level 30 so the exp bonus is useless since it gives you nothing. The docket bonus is nice to have but also inconsequential. I’d much rather see them used as a docket plus resources multiplier. So for example 1 grim multiplies the resources gathered by 2 and 2 grims by 3.

Is it really poor Melk’s fault when the whole game is lousy with crappy weapons?

No one in our group keeps the Grims/Scriptures contracts so we never do the book hunting anymore. Heresy and Damnation is a solid NO. There’s no point in doing those difficulties with the Grims.

No tangible reward for now but I still strongly recommend you at least pick one up especially on damnation(except high intensity), grims can hurry ppl up, and nowadays Ive been finishing normal damnation runs around 25min, saves a lot of time.

Grims are utterly useless and should be avoided.

Picking up a Grim in Heresy and above is grounds for getting kicked out of the match.

As pretty much everyone else has already said.

Grims only if you for some reason have the weekly Collect 12 Grims quest.
Otherwise just don’t bother with them as they don’t give you any benefit at all unlike the Scriptures.

No real benefit, just like doing higher difficulty missions gives you no benefit in the endgame. FS is proud about their challenging, complex, very well developed and completely not buggy game and if the challenge of having one health bar left, less med/ammo pack slots, a weapon that works properly 50% of the time and enemies who respond to your attacks in an accurate way 40% of the time, along with spawning 6 dogs on top of 6 ragers, 8 maulers, 3 bulwarks and 4 reapers while you were dealing with 2 snipers and 12 gunners(cause the game can’t get over the fact that hi-intensity isn’t a “core” condition) is not enough for you to want to play the game while you wait every hour to get another buggy weapon with 3 more ammo and 1 more damage… then I don’t know what your problem is. It’s a game, enjoy it, don’t fuss over trivialities. Sincerely, FatShart.

nah, I forgive him bc he’s the reincarnation of bardin

What if they provided a buff for them team carrying them? Something along the lines of battle brews, a little defense and attack speed? Of course this would be in addition to the post game rewards

Grims have many issues, but the main reason I avoid them is that I hate looking for trash.

Looking for Grims/Scripts is mindless, and trusting my team to look properly has proven a mistake multiple times.

Grimoires only have one function: Make me not play any mission that has them.

i’d say while leveling they are worth less to carry because if you fail the mission you get way less exp, and you are less likely to have any grim protection on curios.

I think you may get rewarded better for more difficult missions and conditions, but who knows.

optimal grim curios I am pretty sure are health and grim protection. wounds are good, at least want one additional, but total health pool will increase your survival rate. getting downed at all can be game over, and then wounds don’t matter so much.

If you care about weeklies or extra challenge, yes. Except that its a tiny exp boost, nothing else?

Grims are fun. Tide games are at their best when the entire team is in one-hit territory.

It is one of the least grindy Weekly Contracts you can get

Potentially 6 maps to complete vs 9 or 25
