Update, ran a few of these and it feels like they cranked up the spawn rates or something, wiped a bunch and it was glorious fun, good job Fatshark keep up the madness
For players who play in teams, there is a new mod that allows you to save a mission for 24 hours so you can try your luck several times without having to wait for a similar mission to respawn.
The mod is called “One More Try (Many More Try)”.
I think I haven’t seen it after update, but was playing it before several times.
You need a lot of control. Trauma psyker with rending shockwave blessing shines on this condition.
Zealot with flamer can destroy maulers blobs even without CTW
Plasma vet.
Ogryn with club and rumbler/can opener rippergun
Congrats! And thanks for sharing the footage; I love to watch high-level runs.
If you wouldn’t mind, could you please share which mod is showing player weapons/blessings on the tab screen?
EDIT: ah nevermind I finally found it! hah! Not sure how I overlooked it a million times, but it is Loadout Monitor for anyone else interested!
Just a matter of having oggys in your team.
The gamemode is too easy yet takes too long. Just a slugfest, not my fave.
P.S: It doesn’t even pay well.
Yes, this mission is hard but not impossible.
I have some advices for people who want to play it.
- Psyker is absolute king in this mission, other classes don’t come even remotely close. 1 Smite and 1 Shield Psyker will improve your odds to complete it by a lot. When it comes to staves: Void with surge blessing = Trauma with rending shockwave blessing → Void → Surge → normal Trauma (without rending shockwave all it does against high armored targets is pushing them around).
4 Psykers might not work in this mission though, unless they’re all gods at melee. You need at least 1 good Ogryn or Zealot for clutch saves, tanking the hordes and completing objectives.

Don’t bother picking Veteran. Playing him is a waste of time here, no matter the build. Even with Plasma Gun or Revolver he’s trash in this mission condition, ever since they nerfed his ammo gain passive. You will NEVER have enough ammo for anything, even if you conserve it and choose targets carefully (bad idea here, you need to kill stuff as soon as possible without thinking). He can’t tank in melee like Zealot, so melee Veteran is no good too. Krak grenades? Nice, you killed 2-3 Cruhsers. 10 more wait around the corner.

You should build your Ogryn with heavy attacks in mind (the left skill tree I believe?). Taunt is not good at all against 10+ Crushers and Bulwarks when they come out at the same time, but maybe you can make it work. You can take grenade launcher with sticky grenades, but use it only when Crushers, Maulers and Ragers come in great numbers. Bully club mk1 is the best weapon here, don’t bother with Power Maul, it is a gimmick weapon that’s not good even in normal missions.

Stealth Zealot is good for tanking and completing objectives for the team, but take the talent that extends the invisibility time. Rending blessing backstabs with knife works great. Don’t bother with Thunder Hammer, the cooldown after each attack is too high and you need the mobility. Take the stun grenades, but only use them when someone is down and you need a save.
sadly these were recorded before the recent patch, maybe they are still useful for comparison sake

i´ll keep an eye on the modifier once its up again, wasn´t shown the last couple day i was recording unfortunately
You know, that spawn looks so big that even a psyker purely running smite doesn’t seem like it’d be strong enough to really solve that situation.
I’ve won these, yeah. It’s a modifier that forces you to acknowledge it and that can catch some people off-guard, especially if they’re new or blindly queuing into Maelstrom.
Have some reusable way to kill armor, be deliberate with gun usage (unless w/ ammo vet), know how to kite, and don’t be a hero with rezzes. Nothing quite like watching folks try to save someone only to farm them into an overhead and then get immediately bonked as well XD
Edit: This is my preferred psyker build when I play it. I did a write up below the tree about how to use it :3
Yeah, sometimes the spawns in C-I-VI get really wild ![]()
Agree, Psyker is really good for this. Your screenshot of the Psyker raising her staff in triumph is a nice touch ![]()
Haven’t tried stealth zealot yet, but I’ve had okay-ish results with a parry-based build (e.g. Thy Taylor Be Swift - Zealot Build for Darktide - Darktide WH40k). I’ve heard crusher builds are good too, but I haven’t gotten ahold of a good one yet to test it out.
Technically not a win, but everything but. Psyker Purgatus + BB Auric Maelstrom C-I-VI (Melee only) on Archivum Sycorax.
I win most of mine with trauma staff psyker, followed pretty closely by plasma voc vet.
Smiter psyker almost trivializes the mod if you enjoy somehow using smite 24/7 and just being a stun bot. Really good shield ogryn can also make a lot of free room when you need it and its honestly super underrated.
Zealots been the only hit and miss for me with random parties. Once stuns run out you really have to rely on your team just getting good or enjoy clutching whenever big pulls happen.
Its definitely beatable but you should not go in blind with just any build, especially with random parties.
So close it hurts!
I disagree with a lot of what you said but my main one is you say vet ammo regen is bad and you say to take stun nades on zealot.
Vet ammo regen for the team is great it keeps the zealots revolver always ready and the ogryns laucher ready.
The stun grenade is great and all but knives will be what you use for special pick off since it’s basically unlimited and once your adjusted to it it’s a head shot machine that kills every special.
My intuition is that vet ammo regen should be great for this modifier, but the few times I’ve tried it with an ammo-regen-vet in the group we’ve wiped. Could just be a coincidence tho, small sample size obvs
I found it’s the most valuable thing on some of my clears.
It was a bunch of mods including waves of specialists and I needed my revolver and all my knives that game because the seer amount of flamers always after my team.
The two ogyrns had launchers and the vet had the plasma gun.
It was great but close a few times.
We definitely would not have cleared the hard parts with out that extra ammo.
Yeah i can definitely back up that statement that when you have ogryn lobbing grenades without worry in the world, it makes runs infinitely easier.
You only start to appreciate it in those runs where you literally have no ammo but still have to kill that sniper or flamer to prevent a wipe.
Stun grenades are so clutch tho…! But maybe I should give throwing knife another shot, I can see the logic for sure.
