Yeah, Fatsharks «money desires» has crossed some critical boundary of adequacy (think of Rubicon). It would be nice to have a dual system of getting premium currency - buy, get on missions, or both. Unfortunately, all this history with aquilas showed that they will not make such a «concession» for players.

Heard a lot of good things about VT2, although I haven’t played it myself. In fact, an interesting question, why Darktide did not absorb the best experience, but we can only guess that there were prerequisites for this among the development team (perhaps the dismissal of key specialists, or again, unsuccessful and wrong opinions about the development of the game at the top management, which decided not to listen to their employees and players).
The sad reality of the gaming industry. There are fewer and fewer developers who haven’t hopped on the greed train. FS is not one of those, they have gladly sold their soul to Nurgle for few extra bucks. Unfortunately they are pretty unapologetic about it too, so it doesn’t seem like it’ll change anytime soon, if at all.

I just have absolutely no sense of time or scale is all. They can lug any amount of Aquillas on me, or on other players… or everyone but me, I would be just as unhappy.
For me to use the store they’d have to go off of the rotation nonsense. Either let me see everything you have available or I’m really not interested. Fix crafting while you’re at it. I’m done supporting this game. I don’t think that (personal opinion here) people in general care much outside this forum thread about console players getting a sign-up bonus, at least not anyone I’m playing with in pre-mades.
With that said, I’m happy if they gift you all Aquillas. Knock yourselves out. But I don’t think it will move the needle in any appreciable direction one way or the other.

The store already rubbed me the wrong way when they implemented the funny money layer, blatantly pushed you towards it with the Mourningstar design and withheld QoL for it.
Forgot certain currency bundles my rectum.

There is that as well, which has been hanging around the back of my mind since I learnt of the Xbox offer. For those who came to the game after launch, at launch you could only purchase more Aquilas than you needed to buy a bundle, not the exact amount. They added such an amount after the anger around it and claimed that such a bundle had been ‘forgotten’. Seeing as the store was one of the only feature complete parts of the Mourning Star on launch, you can see it was top priority. That got my back up immediately as did the FOMO-based construction of the shop.
Between the terrible renditions of the Krieg uniforms - my chosen regiment since Forgeworld released their minis around 15-16 years ago, and the Xbox offer, I have lost utter interest in the cash shop. I’ll keep playing because I love the gameplay loop but I’ll just have to vote with my wallet. If we get anything now, and I don’t want to sound pessimistic but they’ve driven me to this view, for having shown them support whilst the game was a mess for its first year and absolutely not the ‘live service’ game they claim it is, I’m willing to bet anything we get will be something small and insignificant. I’m happy to be surprised and I hope I will be, but I’m not expecting to be.

This is a good explanation. I hope that Fatshark will not make a surprise by combining this gift with compensation for the loss to us (instead of aquilas).

No idea. Maybe they were so busy failing to create correct DKoK skins that they decided to cut Halloween and only do something for Christmas/Candlemass? Sadly, this is going to be a case of waiting and seeing.

That’s barely 5 minutes of work. Recolors ain’t work and its an awful one at that too. What the hell happened to artistic design and imagination?
Tencent is taking their name literally. “Make ten cents designs in the game!”
I can’t blame the working devs over this tho, when some uppity higher up breathes down your neck forcing you to make awful stuff like this.
Those guys are probably thinking “I went to college for this red helmet with a candle on it”.
