Thanks , i’m excited for the next update and also glad you guys are taking your time to release a good itemization rework.
I made a small thread previously in relation to this here
Whiteknighting any company is a strange move in a first place. Companies not your friends no matter how hard they trying to convince you that they are. They need your money and most of this money goes not into pockets of ordinary developers but in pockets of founders/investors. They don’t care about you, just not showing it for different degree. FS throwing talking heads aka CMs to public so player can personilize the anger and vent over. Just don’t let them trick you with another empty promise.
Just give us the opportunity to level up Blessings. Thats all for now.
Congratulations on your first post, oleanus!
Possibly you’ve new to the forum and haven’t read much? Obviously, you may have been in on the game from the Beta like many of us have. Whatever your history with DT, you seem to be answering people aggressively and without any manners. Still, here you go:
I have been hearing empty promised from various members of FS regarding improving communications for a long time now. Unfortunately, they have failed to communicate effectively ever. So, 'working on a dev blog on itemization is a) too little too late, and b) yet another promise which hasn’t been honoured yet.
I’d offer you more information but I can see you are also being very rude to other Forum members on your first ever thread (whilst typing in lower case) so i shan’t waste my time.
The sad thing is that adding an option at the crafting bench to spend diamantine to remove locks (temporarily until blessings/perks are changed on the weapon again) would solve 90% of the angst people have with the system.
Fatshark can and should implement this option soon (it should’ve been here a year ago). Seriously, this is all they really need to do.
They could make this change, and then work on whatever more expansive itemization changes they want (red items, etc) and we’d all be much more understanding customers.
Given this news, I’ll be shelving Darktide again for a while.
I wrote that half jokingly. I just don’t want to put more energy into fighting the usual gamer rage I see on the forums, I just think that this doomposting thing is super counter-productive on the communication front, but I just can’t care that much.
FS isn’t a company with some stellar performance anyway(apart from using a lot of the forum’s/community’s ideas), so whatever.
Yes 100%. Just as I mentioned above, it would be such a small amount of work and would make such a huge difference to the game.
Why can’t they just push that out until their big update?
Removing all locks would be an even simpler fix. Crazy they can’t do that.
I agree 100%
At least you said it.
We don’t like it.
We expected it. We completely understand.
But I personally appreciate that there was a comms piece specifically to notify us.
And you shouldn’t be fightning other gamers or people in general. Such a simple thought.
Just to make analogy with politicans who trying to devide people in different camps(right to left spectrum) to fight each other while getting all the profits. For sure it doesn’t happen on purpose in FS case, but people who emotionally attached to something have hard time to overcome this bond and think calmly togher with others. But anyway, doomposting or attempts to racionalize FSs’ actions equally lead to nothing until players begin to vote with their wallet and time. And as a “customer” in modern world you shouldn’t tolerate any bullpoop companies trying to feed you.
This is a forum, we constantly fight (argue) about a lot of things.
This is just a really bad analogy in this case and makes no sense.
Screw that.
It has almost been 2 years, for Omnissiah’s sake. We had 3+ teams playing on small discord when game came out. Now it is difficult to have 3rd (not to mention 4th) team member, as besides 2 of us nobody bothers, because nothing has changed.
Core gameplay features STILL not implemented yet. Solo mode/proper bots? Bot ability to pick up scriptures/grims/boxes? Proper crafting? Weapon “this is not COD” Customization that has most features already working but requires a mod to use? Chaos Wastes (probably most popualr VT2 mode) alternative to bring replayability?
The game is surviving purely because combat is fun and it is one of very few ok WH40k games. Any other setting would have already killed the game.
The negativity is that this is what they have ALWAYS done since day 1. It’s formulaic at this point:
*Be vague about the changes but repeatedly say that they “HEAR US” and that they’re going to minimize RNG and give us more player autonomy over our gear choices
*radio silence for months upon months
*finally release the big update which is a minor tweak that still leaves us completely at the whims of having our gear bricked most of the time
This isn’t even a complex problem. It doesn’t require years of dev time. It is an afternoon task for an intern. The solution is simple:
1: BREAK THE LOCKS. COMPLETELY. NO MORE LOCKS. WHATOSEVER.
2: Let us upgrade gear to a “red” tier with maximized stats.
Update is done. The players will rejoice.
Well to state the obvious: This was totally the result i expected.
The itemization update better be godly because space marine 2 is right around the corner.
I do hope the feedback/testing part will be bit more than just couple more closed testers
Excellent, appreciate the honest information.
Also, highly approve of you taking your time to get it where it should be. Good stuff. Glad to hear you’re exapanding the play-testers too.
No complaints here.
I am Jack’s complete lack of surprise.
It’s not even disappointing at this point, because we just expect it from Fatshark.
Darktide has promise… but with Fatshark at the helm, that promise is fleeting and so distant, we may as well walk away until there’s an actual significant rework years from now… which introduces a problem of “If nobody played, would they bother doing anything?”
I’ve offered to do volunteer stuff for them already. But I bet you I won’t get asked. If I do get in, I’ll buy you all ice cream.
I’m volunteering my time again, this time for unpaid game testing, just in case the DMs won’t go through. If stuff needs doing and the problems are lack of internal dev time and community engagement, then I -want- to fix it. Let us help fix it.
I sincerely hope that this is genuine, earnest and actually all happens. Nobody can argue that the visceral feel inside the game can be tremendous, but too many ancillary messes interfere with the overall flow and turn the whole into an unsatisfying, stop-start jittering lump. It should have been the primary task from day 1… Well, day 2. Well, what day were we on when you fudged the fix the first time? I dunno. As asked already though - why haven’t some basic triage responses been made to help the ‘crafting’ go along while we wait on a robust and comprehensive itemization fix?
I still look forward to the rework of crafting and items as a whole. I do. I want to be enthusiastic about this game. But I’m also prepared to hold bad-faith efforts and bad systems to account, as evidenced by the grumbling seen here over time. Having any update is better than nothing, fine, I’ll grant that, but this isn’t much in the way of communication yet. Start really updating us, giving us something each week, even if it’s almost nothing at least there’s something coming out from the previously blank monolith and that feels less horrible than silence.
Please, please don’t ditch on this update, on keeping us further informed, on including us by communicating.
Please.
Reminder that every major update for this game has been a rework. No wonder we get so little content, they’re too busy reworking the game from scratch. when we get an update that isn’t a rework, it’ll be time for Darktide 2
At this point i can only LAUGH. KARKING LAUGH!
I was perfectly sure that itemization would never reach us on the 25th. Still i had a tiny little cute hope FS would surprise me.
I guess i can only laugh now that they yet again failed to meet a deadline issued by themselves with ample time to make it.
Fatcrap hope you will enjoy your karking “well earned” summer holidays. After all you worked “so hard” all winter. We got so many “big and essential” updates for Darktide that everyone is “happy”.
Ps. Karking shame on you clowns. And shame on me who will continue to play even if you are the laziest most disappointing devs with a gem of a game at your nasty incapable hands.
