Almost everything about bot that makes you quit playing in 1 clip

Issue Type (Required):

Bots

Issue Description (Required):

Xbox,
1st: they never dodge leeches. NEVER, minus when they accidentally dodge one while actively dodging another enemy.
2nd: they run into blight storms.
3rd: they will run around with range weapon at the ready, in most cases they will charge at a special in this manner, frequently while someone is incapacitated, get to said special, switch to melee, and perform a charged attack.
4th: they charge gas rats in every situation, fleeing everyone else, often off points of no return such as through 1 way walls and off cliffs.
5th: They often jump off points of no return for no reason at all, once down there they STOP. They go idle, they almost immediately get incapacitated because they will not defend themselves by moving, dodging, or even killing specials that are sitting in their lap, they usually do not even block the first attack.
6th: as noted in the example clip, saltspire waits till I’m downed before he casts his ability.
7th: not in clip, since new map bot pathing has deteriorated significantly, they get stuck on objects constantly. If you drop off a cliff (PONR) they will get stuck on the cliff edge until you achieve enough distance for them to teleport which is far too big a distance.
8th: Kruber bot just stops when the game is loading enemies such as large hordes, monsters, specials. He does this at any time there is loading sometimes it’s for a full minute. He just stands there with his ranger weapon out until he takes damage.
9th: bots stack, they do this for fire rats, gun rats and most annoyingly monsters.
All this does is wipe them all out. This would be fine on lower difficulties, but on cata this is unacceptable, any player who played like that would get booted or corrected on the proper approach.
When fighting monsters the idea should be to quarter it, or if there is mixed with horde triangulation of monster with one bot covering the blind side of bots. Another recent problem is that bots will try to slip around to you while fighting monsters in tunnels, they almost instantly get overheaded and die.
10th: shade does not understand her build, she will not use her career skill as intended or when intended. She does not use her blur, even if she fluked into it she doesn’t utilize murderous prowess and dagger in the dark as you or I would. She thinks that cloak of pain is for ranged attacks and doesnt know that she can wipe out a patrol with shimmer strike. (Shimmer strike for humans with any ping over 100 is at best 50% functional) Bounty hunter takes several seconds to fire his career skill, even when he is looking directly at the thing he stands there with the pistol out, idle, which is especially annoying when you are incapacitated right in front of him. Footknight refuses to use his valiant charge to free disabled teammates while using battering ram, which renders its hero time useless.
11th: a battle order menu for bots that actually does something. Like follow me, or stick together, or help. Perhaps a comment system such as 2x2 or 3x1 or freelance is needed. What is definitely needed is a return command or summon command for when the bots are stuck on or have jumped off a cliff.

There’s probably more I’m forgetting, but the pathing is BAD since the new the well of dreams update.

Steps to Reproduce (Required):

Play with bots on cata, watch then do noob stuff. Close game. Yell at the air. Try again later.

12th: whenever you pull the left trigger with your range weapon if you are moving the bots will stand in front of you when you try to fire.
This is brutal if you are using hagbane or bounty hunter or using fire.

13th: When there is a healing intem and everyone has the healing item slot filled then one or more bots waste their healing even if they are almost at full health and then they usually refuse to take that healing item from the ground untill you tell them to do so.

True story

14th: Since the new patch, Bot AI refuses to revive teammates if there are “threatening” enemies nearby. This results in bots standing on you or the other bots, holding block, maybe pushing occassionally, until the person they’re standing on dies. They make no effort to revive their allies or kill the threat.

I’d rather the bots die trying to revive like they did pre-patch than not even try at all post-patch

The only bot that was ever really good at revives was zealot because he would use his career skill t charge on top of you and immediately start pickup.

The bots other than that career specifically do not understand the roll their career skill plays in effective revives.

Anyone with a stagger career skill should initiate the res then deploy CS.
Anyone with a dash has two options, dash onto downed ally and immediately start res, or walk towards, start res then dash in a safe direction.
Invisibility should be deployed slightly before initiating res.
Damage CS is pretty easy, hit the biggest threat, then start res if safe, if not safe then you now have Agro and another character cam make the res.
Sister with wall, make a wall close enough to be a shelter but not on, with drag vine, cast far away but through enemies the stagger is enough of a window to res.
Warrior priest, use CS, start res, it is pretty much unstoppable, which is kinda the idea anyway.

And if no CS charge, two shield bashes then initiate res.
No shield, light attack, push attack, light, initiate res.

All of those are functional methods…sadly the bots are unaware for the most part, they usually just push themselves into a stamina deficit

I’m fine with bots being unaware of player-tech (same goes for Shade-bot not deleting a patrol like a player would), but it’s inexcusable to lose a match because your bots didn’t even try to revive you and that’s only happened since the bot update
