After just 4 months of playing, I'm done

Oh boy, how many fatshark blunders could they have avoided if they ever read that constructive feedback.

Everything in this is wrong. Nobody has a consistently measured 100ms visual reaction time in lab settings; the absolute best is around 120ms, and this is WELL beyond 0.1 percentile. Add a few decimal places to that. It’s well under 1 in a million.

Anything above 300ms would indicate brain damage.

A person’s reaction time being longer than the end-to-end system latency doesn’t make the end-to-end system latency irrelevant, as the total latency adding on human to system is cumulative, not overlapping.

Every serious study consistently finds that people play better with less latency across the board. A bad player will be slightly less bad at lower latency, and a good player will be even better.

The post you linked is great. I see no solutions in your post.

Funnily enough this reminded me of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDjAuPPRsA4
Couple frames in fighting games is alone enough to make attacks avoidable/unavoidable.

I used 100ms as a best-case scenario, not commonplace, and I used this site.

second, like I said, it’s all placebo. You’ll get used to your refresh rate either way; people adapt over time. The big difference comes from inconsistencies in frametime which makes reacting less predictable, and having a system enough performance to keep frametimes smooth is what actually helps. The notion that higher refresh rates enables higher level play, in particular for pro players, has been debunked. It’s marketing to get you to buy crap you don’t really need, but are still ‘nice-to-haves’. If you think you’re somehow going to get the drop on some guy because one frame appeared 8ms faster, you’re delusional.

Also, ever since amd’s sync tech was forced to be made compatible with nvidia gpus, nvidia switched their marketing away from refresh rates in favor for latency-reduction technologies.

I have a minor brain damage… yay!

Mostly fair points. the sound issues were fixed today. For the achievements, you’ll just have to bite the sour apple and get friends to help you cheese complete them.

For the caching issue, there is hilariously a mod that fixes it on the Nexus.

I actually ran out of memory and crashed frequently with that mod. Friggin’ mourningstar. I just use Psych Ward now.

Yeah due to that stupid memory leak thing dark cache will worsen your experience with it. My only work arounds to it are playing a character with a small inventory (I made a Zealot for voice spamming rod, no regrets) or just not swapping loadouts ever. Really fun mix to the gameplay said no one. No traction on this issue is kinda miffing me.

Lmao they just did a patch today a week later… Definitely some valid takes here tho.

And they should’ve told us a big patch is coming when they dropped a big update of just BS. They should have known that would upset people.

But they are working on it and today’s patch is very promising
