After crafting is overhauled, what do we hope to see next?

:joy: Ah in that case I get it, it’s fine. And yes, agreed. Specificity is vital for our feedback to have any concrete value, to even have a chance for it to lead to the kinds of changes we want!

The second biggest problem outside of crafting is Map Selection which for consistent Auric Maelstrom players crutches upon a community made mod to be slightly decent. I’d like to be able to customize the modifiers on a map at the very least. You pretty much covered all the other things I’d like to see with your own list but I can think of one particular thing I’m hoping FS experiment with.

I’d like to see new kinds of bosses, not simply new monstrosities but the ā€œbossā€ category used more flexibly than in the past. It depends on the situation but generally I’d say it’s quite easy to kill a boss (Plague Ogryn, BoN, Chaos Spawn) in Darktide as they only attack one player at a time and some weapons are very good at killing them. What if a boss were instead, say, a platoon of monstrous level infested moebian infantry units? I think the boss experience could be a lot more dynamic and harder to faceroll than it is right now. I also feel like the game could use hybrid ranged / melee enemies that fly but it’s not a well thought out suggestion, more of an aside.

Personally, I’d love to see more weapon options (staffs for Psykers and more bigger guns for Ogryns).

But more importantly, I’d like to see them expand on the existing class system.

We’ve seen them add nodes before (adding the Veterans Keystones) and re-arrange the node paths too. So I’m wondering if in the future they can gradually add like 5 new talent nodes to each class and give us more points to play with.

This would open up more build crafting opportunities and potential while keeping the game fresh as time goes by.

Could you imagine if our talent tree grew over time and became something like Last Epoch (I think growing into PoE size would be a bit too much)? There’d be so many ways to decide how you’d like to play your character and no one would necessarily always land on the same 3 or 4 combinations.

And as more weapons get added in, our loadout diversity would expand and the game would actually grow more interesting as more nuance and complexity is woven in (for me at least :p!)

Some hopes I actually had:

  • Veteran getting a Hotshot Lasgun as a Combat Ability (like Outclass Engineer in V2)
  • Psyker getting an offensive combat ability (maybe something like Chaos Reach from D2 - this would actually be something like Molten Beam, or getting more powers from different disciplines i.e. Gate of Infinity (Sienna’s Teleport), Vortex Of Doom, Flame Breath (built in Purgatus) etc…)

I don’t exactly know what would be lore accurate for characters of our class, but I hope that we get more diversity as the game grows! This game is too fun to not have this potential looked into!

I am not quite sure. I am keeping it at the ā€œI hope crafting is goodā€ level yet.
Don’t wanna be excited for what Fatshark’s cooking until it ends up on my plate and I had a bite.

I hope for a cosmetics system rework.
A system where we could have the mod for the drip and also the mod weapon customization.

Whilst I don’t disagree with you per se, this thread is not an attempt to petition for any one specific thing like the crafting memorial, for example. This is more of a channel for brainstorming possible avenues and directions for future content to take in whatever form people can think of. It’s a way to find things worth petitioning for in the future is another way of putting it.

New class is first on my list followed closely by weapons.

Outside of that if we wanna get crazy, I would like to see a proper Halo style campaign. But hoping for that to ever happen is to err on the side of fantasy.

edit - oh and a roguelite mode like VT2

Anything other than a months long content drought for another system rework Please God.

Campaign style missions with a common theme and storyline component.

An additional archetype with its 3 branching careers and skill tree. This is going to be tough due to reject requirement and current game lore

More balancing of existing archetype skill trees (would be necessary after adding a new one).

Something interesting with Psyker please. More staff blessings that actually synergize with his skill tree. Melee staff (like tuskgor spear) that can also have some type of warp powers.

pain and suffering cause their working apparently on a psn port.

once that releases their whole team has to fix it for another year and meanwhile we lack content and pc always suffers as seen when xbox version was worked on. Nothing we got nothing in that time.

The lack of variety is made worse by the fact that you can’t select the map and modifier you want to play. Add some maps and enemies and make them selectable. Make the lame snail a fun boss to fight, add nurglings, Psykers, officers, whatever. Make monster spawner and loadout config a standard part of the psykanium, that’s what the place is for. And I guess that adding a couple faces, beards and wigs is not immeasurably complex.

That would be a true level of customization.
I’m afraid GW will have their say though in what is lore-accurate enough to be shown in-game, whether players care or not.

They will likely have a seperate team for each port. That’s usually how it works in my experience.

It has happened before in other games… Dawn of war is one example.
I doubt GW would forbid such things.

well what matters is each port which got made created a content draught. Fatshark is in no position to handle more than 1 game let alone 3 ports of the same game.

Darktide actual new content is so minimal compared to the work load they did with the port on xbox and most likely playstation. Their ineffecient incompent and bad managment.

I personally would want to see more maps and more enemies. As for guns I am in the majority of wanting a melta gun especially since boltgun balanced the melta gun well with it’s very limited ammo supply and massive damage.

Map selection overhaul. Otherwise, the more maps they add, the less chance of a map you want to play appears when you want to play it.

Idk if this has been answered yet but are we getting legendary/exotic/unique items with the update?

They really haven’t posted any information other than seeing some athenor like screen shots of weapons and their blessings, some limited way of upgrading a weapon based on some point system

Hopefully the crafting update Dev blog comes out soon

I’m hoping FS can sit down and just bang out a ton of missions. We’re still severely behind Vermintide 2’s mission count. A goal of six new missions in a year would be stellar to try.
