Other Games like Skyrim, Fallout 4 have mods too.
Pls ket us have some Mods.
Need this HP bar on enemys and 3rd person view mod, a score board will be nice too.
No, you don’t need these, nobody does.
The actual QoL mods are great though and +1 for xbox mod support if they’re not gonna be rolled into the base game.
Emperor forbid people enjoy things differently from you
I just made a similar comment in a similar thread but:
Let’s campaign to get the QOL mods in the actual vanilla build so everyone can enjoy them without the need for mods.
I can already get mods on PC, so I hope they never use any dev time on this kind of thing!
“Why won’t people let me enjoy all my cheaty mods!”
Nobody can stop you (except ethics), enjoy away!
Some xboxers would like to be able to enjoy them too.
Just for perspective, is using mods in WoW cheating too?
Because it’s basically ingrained in the wow culture right now.
Why can’t it also be the same for darktide?
Picked a pretty horrid example there chief, I’d argue DBM/weakauras ruined WoW and honestly MMO gameplay on a larger scale too.
Not saying that this would necessarily apply to Darktide since it’s not got mods that go to the same extent, but the mods available in WoW actually genuinely were so busted and allowed players to basically automate their gameplay to the point that the devs had to start designing the game around them. If we’re using that as an example to look up to, something is wrong. You do in fact get kicked from guilds for not using the guild mandated “bossfight helper” addons btw.
Sigh, on the off-chance you’re being sincere, nobody said that, ever here, IDK about there I never touched WoW. Mod culture is ingrained in DT, and I don’t have a problem with it at all except for the cheats, I’d like the consolers to have mods too. For additional context, I spent a lot of time working on QoL mods for myself and others, and use many QoL mods.
There are QoL mods, cheezy mods and cheaty mods, I only have issues with the cheaty mods, as do many others, though they rarely say so here because of the pushback from the cheaters who feel called out (rightfully so). They are are free to use them OFC, as I am free to call them out for being *ussies for using them and trying to cheat at a game even if it is co-op pve. They are free to take offense (as it was intended) and yell at me.
The fact that OP, and Xboxer wants access to the cheaty mods is telling, and fair TBH, they want the same advantage it offer PC users.
I am being sincere and i thank you for the sober response.
It’s just im puzzled that in some game communities modding is widely accepted, with mods that provide clear advantages over non modders.
But in other gaming communities (like darktide) there is some quite vocal push back.
It is quite puzzling but the forums are only a small subset, other platforms have more vocal feedback.
So, I’m not saying its something to look up to. I’m just trying to look at things neutrally.
So blizzard decided to build the game around it, but did they have to?
They could have imposed stricter limits.
It’s just that i dont see many (or almost any at all) threads in wow forums about modding being an unfair advantage. It seems that not even the players care.
But i do agree with you that it does have some drawbacks such as ostracization for not using mods. I once joined a PUG raid with a sweaty elitist guild and i got so many comments as a paladin because i was not using a particular mod for organizing buffs (i was playing an alt, so i did not know about which mods i had to use).
