Active players down over 95% from peak, Crafting thread has 2,000 comments but no dev response, No significant content since Patch13, Studio vacation has been over for months with no product updates. Has Fatshark just moved on?

Are you sure you are not FS dev? Because this is exactly what a FS dev would say. They ignore feedback from dedicated forum and the feedback given by numbers of people playing the game. One persons opinion is relevant if the other 94.99% of opinions are the same. Especially if the people giving this opinion leave. Otherwise your argument can be summed up by: nothing matters, pointless discussing anything or expressing opinions despite being asked by the developer to do it here on their forum.

Now what gives you that idea? Since opinions don’t matter?

This is definitely a singular opinion therefore irrelevant. Why bother writing it?

I think since this is again your personal opinion it is irrelevant on top of being just plainly wrong. Again why are you bothering writing your feedback here since it doesn’t matter?

We are in complete agreement here. But that makes just the 2 of us so it still doesn’t matter. Also who are we to advise the devs, what we want from the product they want to sell us? How dare we question their wisdom and not care how difficult their job is? After all we are just paying for it. They are the ones that have to do something barely a month after returning from holiday.

Exactly this again. Whilst still begin just your opinion and therefore completely irrelevant, how absolutely dare the customers express their issues with the product. Issues that then can be categorised, assigned priority, assign level of response needed, speak to the CM and instruct what can be done with the issue, and have a base calendar of patch releases like any other company that works in this industry. I mean seriously… How dare they. It is beyond clear that what should always take priority are fixes on skins that take most of any patch or hot fix space and the 99.99% of feedback saying that the crafting system needs rework is simply wrong and toxic.

That is a defeatist position. At the very least I can speed up the down fall of this studio by making sure that the pile of negative feedback grows and is visible from space. At the very best if someone in said studio gets a promotion or the title is going to be sold to someone else, they will have fresh feedback what to work on rather than posts from 2022 October saying Crafting when?

That’s a realistic one that has lost faith in this company. I have understood that they think they don’t need any advice…
Crafting system? they said last year that they had listened to players and they would work on it. At final, we have got same system with changes at margin.
They said they delayed their work on console? they lied. They continued and the biggest update has been released along with the deliverance of the console game.

As I said, you can gesticulate how much you want, it won’t change nothing. The only point that can make them change their mind is when it impacts the money they can get.
And that’s why I don’t buy any cosmetic, even if I like them (bye bye the scion helmet that I did not buy and was great…). Because I would like they change their cosmetic policy (too expensive, recolors are not acceptable, we need a for the drip system).

But guess what… if they don’t, I don’t care.

When I will be tired of this game, I would jump to an other one. Tbh, I have already restrained my time on the game. I play rarely veteran (don’t like keystones), and never psyker (i don’t like the class) and ogryn (gameplay is too slow). As a result I play the zealot… but I play less than before. Let’s say that it is the first time I reach 10k plasteel cause I do not craft (I am tired to watch shops).

Then make sure that anyone who might end up here finds your feedback with a fresh date and a spot on brosgw’s wall. This was exactly what happened before DT release. People who played VT2 where saying: don’t buy it you don’t know FS. They weren’t loud enough and here we are now.

See the funny part is we did get some kind of update for upcoming content early on but now it’s just, nothing.

The reason I’m just super disappointed is not because of what larger games are doing or smash hit titles but games in a similar rung (indie to AA niche games) are doing.

Would something like this be so hard? Starship Troopers: Extermination - Unveiling the Vanguard: The Ranger - Steam News

Just a basic “hey here is what we are up to” with a few screenshots and some text? I know we are doing the “We just got back from our holiday, we need a break from it before our next holiday” meme but jeeze man.

lordy do they think they’re in 2010 when everything and everyone got a multi-media franchise from video games?

Before people go off on one, is this Fatshark or GW? iirc GW made a Space Marine board game recently independent of Saber interactive.

I mean, if Darktide was in a shiny spot in the sun I would be like “yeah ok whatever” but you don’t release a goddam trading card game when your game is in the depths of the abyss surrounded by the angry and hungry poor creatures that you created (your playerbase).

I mean, even on the subreddit people are tellign newcomers to play helldivers 2 instead

Oh boy i sure do hope they include a “fall through the floor into a texture less abyss” card.

I mean, if it is GW, my confused outrage still applies.

The entire game will be about developing Darktide and will include such gems as ‘Tencent acquires majority stake’, ‘CEO attended a single monetization meeting’, ‘players abandon game’, ‘CM crams entire foot into mouth’, and the most common card, ‘say nothing’.

Definitely looks like more of an GW thing. I doubt FS has much invested into this.

To be fair: it’s obviously created by a different company than FS and drains no ressources from development.

Did anyone get the Darktide hot sauce? I heard it was spicier than both the game and the forums.

I personally got tired of how hard the game fights you to do anything outside of a mission.

That’s not a “special situation” at all lol, the same is literally true for almost any other game too. For example Helldivers 2. I genuinely can’t figure out why you think any of this applies only to Darktide. It’s not even true to begin with, they’re clearly working on Versus for VT2 too.
Like, you think these things dont apply to games that maintain a playerbase of 50k between updates?

No, point 1 is not true for other publishers at all. There is a lot of publishers who have a wide ranging catalgue of many products managed at once.

Fatshark has only Tide, Vermintide and Darktide. Both are the same IP and they won’t abandon either if they can help it, because this is where their customers are. I don’t know about Helldiver 2 and to be honest I’m not really interested enough to check up. But there is many other studios that have a lot more going on and follow a “release-to-release-hopping” cycle.
Fatshark has adequately proven it is not operating in this way. They’re maintaining Vermintide 2 for over 5 years now and Darktide for over 1 year.

As for point 2, of course it’s true for every other company out there - Which is why the peak daily players and the concurrent players at various times throughout the day are deceiving. Which is exactly my point. People saying “Oh it’s only X players at time Y” are being misled by thinking it’s that number and nothing else.
But in truth most playerbases have a multiple of the concurrent daily peak as a userbase.

Point 3 is also true for other titles. That doesn’t refute the point, though. The person I cited said something to the effect of “there is no point to develop a game for some 4000 players”. But the reality is there is far more than 4000 players.
There is all the players taken together, that actively play the game (we could only measure that if we were to measure all unique player IDs logging in within a 1-2 week time frame). And then there is the potential returning and new players on big content releases / sales actions.

We know for Darktide this number to be in the lower 5 digits easily, some 20k players at the very least.

Point being: Developing Darktide further is absolutely worth it.

But in other news, Darktide is getting a card game
