Active players down over 95% from peak, Crafting thread has 2,000 comments but no dev response, No significant content since Patch13, Studio vacation has been over for months with no product updates. Has Fatshark just moved on?

He tried so hard… It was a bit hard to watch.

Anyone who preorders a game deserves anything negative that comes of it, they are the problem.

Was that the dude who telepots basically made irrelevant with his plasma video?

No one here is really outlying what is a financial success. If we just go by the launch numbers and sales, then its pretty hard to say it wasn’t a success. The peak number is higher than anything that vermintide 2 achieved apart from maybe the free give away week-end. So the game clearly sold pretty well for fatshark standards.

However if the cosmetics and other stuff can keep the servers running and generating revenue, then that is totally different topic. I personally find it little bit hard to believe with their current pricing, fomo and player counts that they are generating enough. But obviously we lack the data to say anything concrete.

i see paid cosmetics on half of every team i see, so they’re selling.

i have no idea why but they’re selling.

Yeah, we should get more enemies with attacks like these. Otherwise, I think we’ll just have to agree that you’re wrong on the complexity thing.

Yeah, one can get some wins on higher difficulties just left-clicking. They’re not going to win as often - probably not even go even - without actually engaging with the game, though. Even a lot of the stuff that takes a lot of challenge out of the game (like Smite, Assail, etc) can just lead you to be backed up into a corner if the SHTF.

It could be better; it does seem like someone wanted to give “backdoors” to players who can’t/won’t play into the game’s systems. But that’s because the game’s systems are complex (and, unfortunately, poorly documented with frickin’ edlritch calculations involved).

I understand the need of many people here trying to be objective and the argumets that DT has earned millions and we really don’t know how much they make monthly and running costs etc. This does not change the fact that we as customers are being treated like nuisance. Their silence is deafening. There is little to no content addent in a span of a year, in a live service game. Bugs and crashes that plague this title since release. 95% and over of active players gone. This very forum discusses constantly if the game is or isn’t dying.
Objectively just on these the game is a failure. It is living from one skin release to another. On a global scale having 3.5k players per hour as peak is laughable, when you remember the open letter that was adressing the potential millions of players. It is living from one skin release to another. It’s only survival is dependant not on the game itself but on the IP it milks.
Saying “We don’t know” as an explanation to the current state of the game is simply not enough and borders on ignorance of repeatedly quoted figures and issues. Nothing changes with the game, there is no reason to suspect anything will improve, which means acceptance of the current state. I don’t need to call the game dead or dying to recognise it as repetetive and see that it constantly wants me to spend more money on it whilst offering the same broken experience with 0 effort put in by it’s creator. Objective doesn’t mean you save criticisms and ignore basic numbers and feedback. Due to all this the dev studio should and needs to fail. It is perpetuating the absolutely worst practices in the game industry.

No, they did not abandon the game.

Same thing happened last year.
When we see that they relase VT2 DLC, you can guess that, no, DT has not entered in maintenance mode.

Some of the Doomer brainlets around here really need to hear this said apparently.

Sweet, sweet copium…

if only the company you know managing and running the game were CAPABLE OF COMMUNICATING THIS TO THEIR COMMUNITY IN THE FIRST 3 MONTHS OF THE YEAR

No matter how hard you try and shill and make excuses for or insult people that dare criticise you cannot defend this.

Cope and seethe

What is the difference for a gamer between a game that is abandoned and dead in maintenance mode or one where player feedback is completely ignored, dead silence from dev and content amount that could fit in a tea spoon? Please explain to me what is the difference?

One is abandonned… no patch, no update.

The other is not.

Ouch man, that really hurt.

The patch released, required an immediate hotfix. The reported issues that patches are meant to fix are still unfixed. This is not changing the quality of the game, doesn’t improve it, does literally nothing. It is almost invisible, apart from the power sword change. Saying it’s not abandoned doesn’t change the 0 sum actions behind it. It makes no difference.

I just mean that you are one person with one opinion and that opinion has no bearing on the success of the game.

The devs are most likely well aware of what the problems. I’m just guessing here but the crafting system has had to be mandated by someone higher up in the chain… to what end I cannot know. It’s a perfect pay-2-win system but they just forgot to add the 2-win part.

As for community feedback. I think it’s over rated. We don’t have the first idea how easy or difficult things are to change. The best feedback is just a post on the forum that details what the posters personal grievances with a a system are and why, not how to fix them because more often than not these suggestions don’t pan out either.

I guess my point is, and here we can disagree, that I have too many good games to play that I’ll just leave this bad one (or good one but with deal-breaking mechanics) until they fix it a way that I personally like. If other people like it then that’s just fine. I have other games to play and better things to do (like trolling these forums).

The mission board is as busted now as it was day 1.

You can’t take the rants on forums and Reddit as gospel when it comes to making changes to the game. they have to look at the big picture, wheres we have the luxury to obsess over minutia. Deal-breaking minutia (for me at least) but most people don’t post here. That doesn’t mean that those who post here are wrong, or that they should not be listened to, but it’s all opinion that they can choose to listen to or not. Ultimately we have the choice if we want to play the game or not.

Aquillas earned when buying the game? I also have no idea. Just guessing. Maybe they are making tons of money this way. I still have all of my Aquillas from the Imperial edition as I don’t want to to partake in this nonsense.

You know that it won’t change anything, don’t you?
I am not part of FS staff… I just say that it was the exact same situation last year at same period.

You can gesticulate how much you want, it won’t change anything.

Like the last year, they are surely working on a big patch since they have returned from their month of holidays (lucky they are)…

The lack of updates and commlink communication combined with Helldivers 2 has really put the community into tail-spin suicide watch hmm.

The grounded and realistic take is that FS are just being their usual frustrating selves and will come out with some update at some point that will address more of the community’s complaints just as they did so repeatedly last year. It’s just iceberg slow as per Fatshark’s M.O.

The energy people put into gesticulating on the internet isn’t going to change anything are you say, at least not until the community has burned itself out.

The people saying that Fatshark have abandoned the game, or that Fatshark see a brighter future in Vermintide 2 (lol), are just needlessly ragebait jerking each other off.
