Issue Type (Required):
Visual
Issue Description (Required):
When I have FSR3.1 Frame Generation turned on and I activate a Stimm, it seems the frame generation breaks and stops working for the duration of the Stimm. There’s a marked decrease in visual fluidity and mouse smoothness, this effect begins when the Stimm kicks in and ends when the Stimm effect is over. The effect is best described as the framerate being much lower and the mouse controls being less responsive.
Here’s a link to a Youtube demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyqmubLqQVs Pay attention to how much choppier the camera movement and weapon animation is while a Stimm is active.
Reproduction rate is 100%, happens with or without mods, regardless of resolution or visual quality or GPU usage or upscaling type. It happens at any framerate as well, I usually play at 90FPS and noticed it immediately. This does NOT happen when FSR3.1 FG is off.
It’s important to note that the game’s actual performance is seemingly NOT being affected when this happens. I’ve kept track of my CPU/GPU/RAM usage with RivaTuner and nothing changes, the game does not become more demanding, the stimm activation is not hogging the computer’s resources more than it before the activation. The rendered framerate doesn’t seem to change either, RivaTuner says it’s still the same framerate. But despite that, there’s a very obvious loss of visual fluidity visible on screen and the mouse feels ‘heavier.’ It’s as if the visual overlay of the stim overrides the frame generation’s effect, so the image starts displaying with the framerate I’d have BEFORE the frame generation kicked in.
Steps to Reproduce (Required):
- Turn on Darktide with FSR3.1 frame generation turned on
- Play any class in a mission or the Psykhanium
- Pick up blue/yellow/red/ Stimm injector and use it
- Observe visual results
