Fatshark, pls, some achievements are not possible to complete without 4 man premade. Psyker achievements for example, you need to kill a monster with only brain buster while your team not allowed to deal any damage to it, or kill 20 enemies by pushing them off the cliff in 1 go, with randoms or bots it’s literally impossible because you need to wait a horde, you need them to be alive, lure to some place where you can TRY to throw them all off the cliff. And this whole setup is ruined by some random dude who decided to throw into that pile of meat 1 or 2 grenades.
Make your game more friendly for random runs, stop forcing peoples to play in premades.
I agree especially after unlocking zealots Abhor the Mutant and the flash grenade a sniper 40m away but, there are a few levels that will facilitate the psyker push one even on sedition whether or not the rest of the team cares…well, you made a solid point.
I absolutely agree with this. The problem with those challenges is that they make the Player feel like a failure each time they try to and do not complete the achievement, which is incredibly frustrating, especially when compared to an achievement based on grinding which at least allows the Player to feel like their efforts are worth something as they will always get closer to success, no matter how slowly. I’m currently trying to do the ‘‘Kill 3 enemies with the grenade without making it bounce’’ for the Guardsman and I just feel like **** that I’m unable to complete it even though it seems feasible when reading it. At that point, make me kill 100 elites with grenades to unlock the appearance, it will result in the same amount of missions being played to unlock it but at least I wont feel like a piece of *** when failing.
Also, another good point you mentioned: this game is fun when just playing it as it’s presented, there’s no need for the devs to force weird achievements on us. I don’t want to have to force my teammates to do missions my way so I can unlock appearances. I don’t want to play in a less useful manner because I’m trying to get a damned jacket for my Psyker. It seems incredibly counter-intuitive to have such solo-focused challenges in a game that’s all about working as a team, it makes no sense. I truly hope they change those challenges to be grindier rather than contextual, because rn it actually makes me want to stop playing.
With all that said, I love the game, but I feel like this part of it is absolutely ruining my enjoyment of the overall product. We don’t need Halo Infinite challenges in Darktide, just let me play and grind and be good at the game to unlock the things I want.
Edit: All the achievements I completed were completed ‘‘by mistake’’, which didn’t make me feel all that good about myself (y’know, like achievements should). I don’t feel like I’m a better Psyker because I popped a Hound’s head while it was leaping, I just feel luckier than the one that popped a Hound’s head 1 second too early or too late.
