About the performance settings

they just blur the screen, i think it would be better if they reduced the polygons, removed particals, and lower the quality of the textures. if the game looks absolutely amazing and makes the game lag, people can’t play. and the game still looks amazing even when its blurry and thus makes the game lag. this needs to be fixed. THIS IMAGE IS OF THE HIGHEST FPS GAMEPLAY MY FRIEND CAN DO! for the record, this did nothing for his frame rate.

why would upscaling change poly count?

Are your friend trying to play this in 360p on an ipad?

Ever since I started playing in Beta I’ve noticed that the Mourningstar just looks… ‘fuzzy’.
I put it down to weird lighting effects, but on reflection (a ha ha) I don’t think it is - I think it’s the upscaling tech.

I have tweaked settings since to reduce visual quality but avoid scaling and all ray tracing. I get 70fps @ qhd regularly on a fairly old 2070super/3700x, apart from when the needle scratches on something, and I get a screeching sound and 2fps for a second or two.

I do see other people’s screenshots and think “ooh purdy”, but tbh, it isn’t the best optimised game I think any of us have played wrt to graphics. Well, wrt most things to be honest; network, audio, visual, memory?!
