Ah yes, bizarro world, this means that hundreds of hours of practice and effort may go to waste (perhaps paid DLC has also become garbage).
Yes, I hope the 18 penetration is aimed at quantity rather than quality. It could also be Fatshark attempting to optimize some bug prone code.
Take them DOWN! Destroy Fatshark! Find a legal precedent so you can go to a court and be like “They nerfed my plasma gun’s cleave spam and hive scum has to kill a single melee guy for infinite ammo ;((((“ and WIN!!!
Never mind, why should I care so much? we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
What I mean is about nerf DLC characters, but your suggestion is good. I will communicate with Tzenetch to ensure the feasibility of the plan
Poorly translated versions of abilities and enemies, complaining about the slightest of nerfs and reworks, and there’s three entire threads of this dreck.
Y’know, the scaremongering about entitled Chinese players is getting less mongering every time one of these pops up.
Some testing with 18 cleave on Auric using 500 Power PG with charge rate dumped to 60% and +carapace and +unyielding perks with Gets Hot and Rising Heat Blessings firing from 0% heat level:
Bulwarks and Crusher → Plasma explodes when hitting Carapace, so pen values unchanged
Reaper, Scab Rager, Mauler → 1 enemy takes damage
Poxwalkers, Scab Shooters → 7 enemies take damage
Groaners → 8 enemies
Shotgunners, Scab Gunners → 2 enemies
Dreg Gunners, Dreg Rager → 3 enemies
Infinite cleave exists it just costs more ammo.
Do you people actually understand why certain weapons are meta and others aren’t? It’s usually because a weapon scales with a specific talent or skill, or simply because it has absurd base damage. Now, do you know why the rest of the weapons are useless? It seems like everyone forgot that, patch after patch, Fatshark kept cranking up the HP of basic enemies until they’re basically tanks. Mindlessly buffing everything will only make power creep worse; eventually, you’ll need an orbital strike just to kill a single gunner. The solution is simple: lower the global HP and stagger resistance of the enemies.
be afraid, be very afraid ![]()
what’s the english proverb about
“if it walks like a
, quacks like a
…”
in modern times it can’t possibly be a
, that’d be offensive to every poultry member ![]()
Tell me about identifying the issue correctly - then coming up with the most nonsensical “solution” which will both keep meta strong AND destroy any challenge in the game at once. As if all those yolo vets and HS spamming kraks and toxins nonstop, not allowing you to interact with content, weren’t enough.
Yes, the cause of the situation is powercreep. No, making mobs even more vulnerable to powercreep doesn’t solve anything. Nerfing all those “meta” weapons instead of “buffing everything then buffing mobs because they are no longer a threat” mindless endless cycle is the right way to go. Who could have thought that nerfing a few outperforming weapons is the solution to them outperforming everthing else? I might be a genius or something!
To be honest,I dont think they really know why there were nobody like to use infantry las. The infantry las are not lack of ammo but there are too many shield man and “tin can”,and its really hard for us to keep shooting in heresy’s head in a whole game with a high-recoil semi-auto weapon
Thats the true,I do think they should have a 60-day plan to fix those old weapens or just try to balence enemy
I’m sure they have internal metrics, and giving individuals a competitive scoreboard in a co-op game is going to be a huge mistake, faulty incomplete info gathered by bias not to mention the damaging effects it has on player performance.
But H40 is not a useful thing for weapon balance its pushed so far beyond its normal parameters you just have to accept there will be builds and weapons that work and others won’t.
In my personal opinion, the biggest problem with the current game is still that many old weapons or builds are hard to play a substantial role in the current normal N5 difficulty environment. Nowadays, there are a large number of armored enemies in the N5, and weapons like laser weapons, automatic rifles, and engineer shovels are completely unable to deal with such battlefields.
you could just position better, or learn to hold space, or learn tempo on when gunners stop firing so you can start suppressing, or you could stay out of LOS and bait gunners into coming towards you, or you could force a dive and have the gunners come into. or the myriad of the dozens of other steps you can use towards gunners other than just pressing the f button
Kraks have been in the game since launch, and only now am I seeing people crying about them. As for the toxin, well, what did you expect from a class born out of power creep?
Literally the only solution is to nerf the enemies. The game has reached an absurd point where every enemy has so much stagger resistance and HP that any weapon that isn’t a one-shot is useless—not to mention they’ve made almost every blessing irrelevant. If they keep going down this path, they’ll have to adjust EVERY weapon, EVERY blessing, and likely nerf or rework every class that scales with a specific stat.
On the other hand, if they nerf the enemies, plenty of weapons become viable again without all the extra work. Then, they’d only need to nerf the current meta for the game to make sense again—a world where a gunner doesn’t tank three headshots just because you’re not using a meta weapon.
Literally, rolling back and nerfing enemies is the easiest way to balance the game and see which weapons actually need a buff or a nerf.
Most blessing have been irrelevant since release as they were intentionally made to be inferior to others and designed to extend the time players grinded for a “perfect” weapon. Orginally, blessings were unlocked thru random drops and you had to destroy the weapon with the blessing on it to allow you to enhance another weapon with it and each tier of blessing was considered a seperate blessing. You also weren’t able to max out weapon stats by upgrading so you had to rely on RNG to get a max rating weapon with a desired 80/60 spread. In addition, the perks and blessings were random and you were only allowed to change one blessing OR perk. So you hope RNG would grant you a max rating weapon with 80/60 spread, then hope you rolled three desired blessing and perks out of the entire pool.
There was a time when getting Power Cycler 4 meant leveling 4 vets to check each character’s store every hour hoping it’d appear. There was even a browser extension that let you check and buy items from the store. Going broke chasing after the perfect weapon was pretty common. And then there was old Man-Stopper which capped out at T2, so it meant you needed a non-max level character for it to drop.
Yeah Darktide still struggles with the core problem that their game was originally built to be player hostile on every layer of the game that wasn’t the missions themselves, probably due to someone’s idiotic idea that randomization would keep players engaged and playing.
1.Pressing the F key will not automatically help you kill all experts and elites.
2.The issue that should be considered is that this change further compresses the living space of veterans, who are extremely lacking in self-protection ability.
3.If you think it’s interesting to shoot for an hour against those gunners like going back to World War I or Contra, then I agree with your point of view. Shields, smoke, and extra resilience are excellent fault tolerance, especially when groups of Berserkers, Smashers, Experts, and Bosses come rushing forward with a mixture of gunner.
I want stratagems in Darktide!
